Hard to say. Florida is by far the #1 state in the country for recruits, but they have to share it with Miami and Florida State (and other out of state schools that recruit Florida heavily). Georgia is not too shabby either, probably the #4 state, and the other Power Five in-state school is Tech who doesn't recruit as well as Florida's in-state rivals. That said, UGA has to defend against Clemson, Alabama, Auburn, and Tennessee who all recruit very well from Georgia.

As far as facilities and fan support go, both schools are in an excellent position.

I am inclined to say UGA, but I know that that is just my homerism speaking, so I won't do that. Instead, I will say that both schools are practically unlimited in terms of their potential ceilings, but a coach may have to work a bit harder in recruiting to build an elite team at UGA by keeping neighboring schools at bay in Georgia and picking up guys from out of the state more often than Florida does.

Georgia. Less competition in the state, and a way better town.

Florida has more HS recruits, and more recent success, but has to put up with everyone coming into their state to recruit plus the other two P5 schools. UGA doesn’t really have to even compete with Ga Tech for in state talent, and it’s still a very talented state for football, and Athens being right next to Atl is just the cherry on top.

Pretty even overall. Both have advantages and very few disadvantages.

Georgia, easily.
Doesn’t mean Florida can’t get a better coach and change things though.

Toss up, both have to share recruits. LSU takes from both states, then walls off LA. It's great to be us.

Georgia gets Auburn every year.

Florida gets LSU.

Georgia is clearly better for this alone

I don't know about "easily." I think it's basically a push, but Florida has been both smarter and luckier since the 90s.

8/10 of your states best left the state last year, 2 to UGA.

Close one but I gotta go with Georgia and, even though I know I'll piss off my Bama brethren, overall the UGA job is as good if not a little better than the Alabama job... Thank God in heaven that UGA wasn't hiring when Saban was considering coming back to college football... That monster would have been terrifying.

Also, for as much crap as I give UGA fans cause I'm an arse like that, it's only a matter of time before Kirby wins it all... That pumpkin pie hair-cutted freak has recruited lights out... Is a defensive mastermind and is the only team that truly worries me when we play them...

Oh, I don't know about that. I mean y'all have had Muschamp and McIlwaine as your last two coaches. Did your AD really expect much from them? if so, they must have been extremely disappointed.

Yes you do, but you may have redeemed yourself with this post.

That said, Alabama administration supports their football program like no other, and that means a ton.

Athens is a lot nicer than Gainesville. Athens very close to Atlanta. Georgia should be the top team in the SEC... they have not been and they are not. There is a lot of competition for Georgia and Florida talent. Texas and California would argue about who has the most D1 players. All great states for college football.

I would argue that Georgia and LSU have the best recruiting territories in the nation. Georgia has the best players and is centrally located in the region with the best recruits, unlike Florida.

LSU cleans up in Louisiana and Eastern Texas to make it close. If Georgia cleaned up like LSU does, they would be unstoppable.
