With how he's commented in this thread, its obvious he thinks Florida is the best place in the world and is a homer or epic proportion.

As a LSU fan I want to say LSU, but both have great football programs in hotbeds of football talent. It might be easier to win at UF right now since the east is down, but LSU has 3 states loaded with talent to recruit from.

Good point. Winning in the East is an easier path right now and the near future compared to the west.

LSU fans are far more hardcore and critical to please.

ETA: LSU is still a top 5 job in the country.

Both are top 5 and I don't really know how you would justify one being ranked over the other

Seriously? UF seems to be on the slide.

Current top jobs I would say are USC, Texas, Alabama, LSU, Notre Dame (say what you want but you know there are a number of coaches that dream[ed] about coaching there, Ohio State.

Florida is sort of in the same second tier with Michigan. Both are having down times and you aren't going to attract a top notch coach.

Yea but if you are a winner you have even higher expectations of what you want to achieve.

Better fan support? Are you drunk or just stupid? LSU is known to have some of the most rabid fans and they travel well. Until Spurrier got there, UF football was awful, awful, awful.

I think that's the point. Florida had all the pieces they needed except the right coach. In a way, you could say the same thing about A&M. With the exception of the Bear Bryant and Jackie Sherrill years, A&M has had HORRIBLE coaching.

UF has been down by our standards, but so has everyone else on your list except LSU and Bama. Of course UF also has 2 national titles in the last 6 years.

Explain Gene Stallings...

27-45-1 at A&M (1965 - 1971), won the SWC once and went to 1 bowl game (Cotton) and won it.

At Bama 70-16-1 (1990 - 1996), won the west 4 times, won the sec once, 6 bowl games - 5 wins.

Gene magically get better over 19 years?

The OP was:

I took it to be, 'what job would I want if I was a head coach and those were available'.

I, personally, feel like UF is on a slide. Take it however you want, but as a top coach, they're going to want to go somewhere with some history which is the teams I listed above. Traditionally, UF has been a second tier SEC team.

The rantard LSU folks that stir this forum is not the typical LSU fan in real life - sorry if some of you want us to think otherwise.

I've had the same experience with all Bama fans I've met tailgating in BR, TTown and NO (minus one experience with same frat boy douchers). always a great time, and looking forward to tailgating with bama fans again this year.
