Most in this thread probably don't remember Saban as DC of the Browns either. For the Saban can't X's and O's crowd, he was pretty good at that as DC for the Browns without an overwhelming talent advantage

Saban's rolling defensive backfield is the Gold Standard for that side of the ball. He doesn't get nearly enough credit for that.

Saban wouldnt lose to the shitty cowboys if he was the saints coach.

But this is an Apples and oranges question. This is like asking if tiger woods and Michael Phelps switched sports who would be better.

It's really a question of one's perception of the pro game vs the college game.

For the record, I don't think Payton would be as successful at Bama and I don't think Saban would win a SB with the Saints. They're both right where they need to be
