Me either, but a lot of Arky fans think they're a destination or premier job in the SEC because one retard from the B1G made a lateral move due to bickering with his old AD.

Apparently the recruits don't agree. If he was a much better coach, seems like he'd be out-recruiting ole buTch.
better at pulling in recruits =/= better coach.
to answer the titular question: TN has a better recruiting base, AR has a better chance of success.

Ah, it's all clear now. You just hate Arkansas.

Tennessee is going through a phase. This team is as close as AU in their series record with Bama. If they had played in Ttown prior to 1999 they would have the most wins by a visiting team in BDS. Arkie historically is strong too but in the SWC. UT built a program in the SEC and for the younguns that don't remember pre-2000 this is a very marketbale, recruitable university that has great tradition and fan support as good as anybody. They were seating over 100K in the 1980's. That tells you all you need to know. Once they get a coach, they will lose 2 or 3 games a year at most in the down years. I don't want that to come back but it's inevitable.

oh wait that's the best you can come up with? How did your year last year go? We were 5 yards away from winning the SEC title and going to the National Championship.

I just don't see how taking a state that has normally had OK talent, to a state that has good to great talent wouldn't help The University of Tennessee.

It's not even that. Arkansas has no history, and no tradition within the SEC. Tennessees facilities are some of the best in the country right up there with Bama and LSU. As said before we don't have the super dense populations of prospects but the mid state is throwing a lot more highly ranked recruits then ever before. frick the Vandy hangs with us in the mid state bull shite too go look at the 247 2014 TN recruit page for the most part we can pick and choose which players we want. Memphis is another story but we get our fair share from there as well. We're in the top 10 winningest programs in the country even with the worst stretch in TN history. The recruiting says a lot of this arguement. High profile kids want to come here even with the shitty arse past few seasons. UGA UF AU UT Bama and LSU will always be in their own league and it would take another 20 years to change that perception

Really? I guess that is why we just started plans for the Pat Summitt Plaza, because we are so broke.

I would argue that there is more talent within the 250 mile radius of Knoxville than Columbia.
And, based on those maps, I would argue that there is better seafood in a 250 mile radius of Columbia than Knoxville...
Our recruiters don't have to waste time driving to the third of that area that is water, so they expand their coverage areas to more football friendly climes. Giving us a better reach into VA, NC, AL and FL.

How can this be true? Name one team that has won the SEC or NC since the turn of the century that didn't have an incredible recruiting base.
The game is played by players.

there's no doubt that whoever can win the battle over GA, NC, and VA recruits between USCjr adn UTK will be in the top 3 in the east and the other will be left behind.

Arkansas' national presence
That's an oxymoron, right?

A&M has an argument to be in there and make it a top 7 if they can keep winning after Manziel leaves. Recruiting-wise, they should.

Lulz, this is an obvious flame thread. So where did the bad arky man touch you?

How can this be true?
based on performances of the team. the ranking at the end of the season matters a lot more than Rivals's recruiting rankings.

i'm going off of which team i think will perform better in the upcoming... say, five seasons. if winning the NC or SEC is the only measure of success, then probably neither team will be successful in that time.

and AR's "poor" recruiting got them to, in the past three seasons, a #5 AP ranking and a #12 AP ranking with a BCS bowl. while TN's "great" recruiting got them squat. coaching, and coaches who can recruit to their system, are important.

That doesn't reflect the loss of a ton of players due to coaching changes.Yeah,UT finished high in the recruiting rankings, but lost many of those players. So, it really shows nothing at all. Actually, it proves a point that if UT gets a decent coach that brings stability.....the sky is the limit.

Arky MAY have as good a home recruiting base, but Tennessee recruits nationally every year.
Arkansas, not so much.

UT has Memphis. Plain and simple. Ark has nothing that can compete with this.
You know Memphis is closer to Fayetteville by over an hour than Knoxville, right?
You guys realize Arkansas was winning national titles with Texas Talent back in the SWC. Just as Tennessee did with South Carolina and Georgia talent before those programs became good and kept their talent to themselves.
With Texas A&M back in the league it opens up the Arkansas name back into Texas.
Arkansas = Tennessee.
