The surrounding area is awesome. Hiking trails, tap rooms, good food, the Durham Bulls, sports bars, etc. And they are building new stuff every day.

Durham changing big time.

Lotta gentrification going on.

I just no a few on here don't like duke because most the student body is from the North.

The surrounding area isn’t that great, but the campus is awesome

The surrounding area is awful. The crime rate is through the roof. Duke has a nice campus, no denying that, but it's really a matter of taste. If you like neo-Gothic, it's a nice place to wander. But I'd put several of the Ivies over them, and there are plenty of public schools that have really nice campuses, just not as easily pigeon-holed. I'd put a few SEC campuses on my must-visit list just as soon as I'd put Duke.

Considering how much of a dump A&M's campus is I don't blame you for fawning over other school's campuses

For the US, yeah definitely Pepperdine, CU and Stanford. Around the world, several, notably Oxford

Let me clarify, I’ve lived in Durham until I began going to school at Ole Miss. Most people go to Raleigh for events/ stuff to do. I have noticed that the city itself has been expanding and getting better every time I go back on break though. A lot of Durham county is still pretty poor and run down

Duke is beautiful!

Indiana University is the picture perfect college campus, especially during the fall.

the University of Chicago is also beautiful, very similar to the Duke in the same Collegiate Gothic style of architecture.

It may look great, but once you get there you’ll see how many beta males and cucks there are.

If you're not a fan of gothic revival it might be one of the ugliest campuses in the country. I like the campus a lot personally.

Pepperdine

I was thinking the same thing, at least as far as the view. Absolutely spectacular.
