I don't think it's fair to penalize Bama because their star corners aren't draft eligible. I think Bama's the pretty clear #1 with Fitzpatrick, Humphrey, Eddie Jackson, Kendall Sheffield, etc.
LSU, UF, and UGA probably round out the top 4 in some order.

I think the NFL GMs will be a little more leary after some of Bama's recent DBs in the NFL.
Well, we all know all Bama players are busts and yet for some reason NFL GMs keep drafting them.
So I'm sure it will continue.

Holy shite lol
Kirkpatrick was never even taught how to back peddle when he made it to the NFL.

Seccountry.com currently has them ranked as
1. UGA
2. Alabama
3. Florida
4. A&M
5. Mizzou
Looks good except I would move UGA to 3 and bump Alabama to 1

Man, that 2011 defense must have been awful.

I think it caused some to slip to the second round this last draft.

When Pruitt first came to UGA, we had 2 DB starters kicked off the team and another transfer. We were pretty much forced to start 2 true freshmen and a walk-on RS freshman, and still fielded a top-10 ranked pass defense.
He walked into a much better situation at Alabama with the talent he inherited, and his proven track record should indicate that they'll be top 3 at the very least.
Don't tell the rant this.

This is true.
They repeat DBU, DBU, DBU, but that reputation was built on past units that were FAR superior to the ones they've put out the last few seasons.
Nick Saban and Ron Cooper aren't walking back through those doors.
This is an interesting opinion, since the DBU thing didn't start until Peterson and Mathieu started balling at Arizona.

Ryan Clark had to have his footwork completely retooled to succeed in the NFL.

LSU was pretty bad last year, but a lot of that may fall on Kevin Steele. Everyone loved to laugh at us last year when we hired him because of his tendency to get torched through the air, and they were right. His defense gave up huge chunks of yardage on busted plays several times every single game.

Not our fault nobody else played deshaun watson
Actually...South Carolina did. And they actually held him down better than Alabama.

UGA never played a team the was good thru the air last year.
Your point being?
And which juggernaut passing team did Auburn play last year? Where did y'all finish in pass defense?

Was Dobbs considered a good passing QB? Kelly was the only decent passing QB in the SEC last year.
So. What you are saying is it was Kelly's fault Auburn finished so low in pass defense?

No dumbass, SEC pass defense stats are skewed by poor QB play. It has been that way for a few years now.

This won't happen. maybe top 5 in SEC. We expect a dropoff from pass rushers that will hurt our secondary.
SECCountry is just going off last years rankings, and how many players are returning. They are not taking into consideration pass rushing and how it affects the secondary.

I think it caused some to slip to the second round this last draft.
Ragland, Reed, and Robinson went second round because they are run stoppers and don't affect the quarter back. This last draft was also one of the deepest drafts for interior lineman ever.
QBs, pass catchers, pass rushers, pass defenders, and guys who keep QBs up right get drafted in the first Rd now.
