A&M returns 6 of the 8 guys in the FL rotation. Garret, Hall, Mack, and Henderson are pretty good.

LSU in RB's and WR's. Not saying they'll all have amazing years but they are the best

I agree that LSU DL is on the come-up. I like Bama's OLBs more than their linemen. Thats why I would give aTm or UT the nod.

So you mean like pretty much every pass catcher at LSU? I guess that means we should take their group down a notch.
Not to mention, it isn't like Howard sat on the bench all season before the Title Game.
3 for 37 vs Wisconsin
4 for 68 vs MTSU
4 for 70 vs Ole Miss
3 for 17 vs Arkansas
3 for 35 vs Texas A&M
7 for 55 vs Tennessee
3 for 59 vs Michigan State
5 for 208 for Clemson
He wasn't running through the secondary like the last game, but he averaged almost 3 catches a game (including 0 catches in the rain @ UGA, 1 catch vs State when we ran the ball 55 times and 1 catch vs CSU).
He averaged the 2nd most yards per game in the league behind Hunter Henry last year at his position.

Bama has great lb's but to me they look even better with that brick wall of a dline keeping the blockers off them. Saban just knows how to build a defense and he starts with enormous and athletic dlinemen...its sick how big and fast that group is.

again, bad QB play doesn't mean the WRs are also bad. Go look and see what NFL scouts and draft boards are saying about Malchi Dupree. He's solidly in the middle of the 1st round. It's people like you that thought Larry Fitzgerald was washed up because "stats," ignoring his QB situation prior to this year
You did say "best position units" right? A reasonable individual would say this would be based on *on the field performance* in 2016. Unfortunately, this does predicate that you have a reasonable facsimile of a quarterback throwing them the ball. Not saying it's impossible for LSU, but unless you make great strides at the position, it is more likely to be one of those amazingly talented WR units that underwhelmed due to no fault of their own. No one is saying you won't have the most *talented* WR corps, but it may be impossible to infer best if production isn't there.

can't disagree with you there

VOLS have the best KR, PR and every member of the best coverage units in the conference coming back and a top 3 punter.
Easily the best special teams in the country as long as you don't include kicker.

Question - just because I am curious - will all of those guys stay on kick coverage? I assume some will start playing more and might be moved off, but I obviously don't know the details of who Tennessee had on coverage teams. Do they generally keep starters on there (Alabama does)?

How the frick did LSU lose so many games if they have the best position units in the SEC?

because they fail at the most important position unit year after year

This thread has gone exactly as expected. This place is such a shithole.

I mean, they also failed at OL the biggest 3 weeks of the season.
Alabama : 26 rushes for 54 yards
Arkasnas : 30 rushes for 59 yards
Ole Miss : 38 rushes for 184 yards
And defensive line play
Alabama : 250 rush yards
Arkansas : 299 rush yards
Ole Miss : 152 rush yards (and 280 pass yards)
I mean, again, I think LSU will be really good, but it is insane how quickly the performances against 3 of the 4 best teams on the schedule are forgotten. Sure those guys are coming back, which is great, but those guys got whipped.
LSU has tons of talent (as usual), but I think their OL and DL/LBs still have a ton to prove to be an elite Top 4 type team, in addition to Harris. Not saying they won't (they totally might and probably will), but it isn't just a given that guys who played the year before are all of a sudden light years better.

Nobody has seen him do anything yet. Not saying he can't or won't be good, we just haven't seen anything yet.
He had 10 catches and 2 TDs in about 2 and 1/2 games last season. We saw a little bit.

Ardarius Stewart
Pretty much the definition of an average WR.
he's a pretty legit weapon. struggled with drops early in the year, but he blew up down the stretch and made a lot of big plays. Definitely above average after the catch. He's also one of the fastest guys on the team.
63 catches, 700 yards, 4 TDs in 2015. if that's average, i want a bunch of average receivers on my team.
for comparison, Drew Morgan had 63 catches and 843 yards.

Not going to say Arkansas has the best WR/DL unit but they are definitely underrated.

Averaged a grand total of 1.8 yards per game receiving less than Travin Dural and had 1 more TD.
Some people are just silly.

Alabama people aren't actually doing that and we have won 4 of the last 7 national championships
LSU people are actually doing that and they have averaged 3 losses a season the last 4 years.
Crazy bammers!
