1996 Kentucky. Played in an era where CBB was stronger as a whole, largely due to the lack of one and done. The guys on that squad went on to be National Championship Runner-Up in ‘97 (lost to Bibby’s Arizona in OT in the NC) and won the NC in ‘98. The only teams they lost to that season were Final Four teams (UMass and Mississippi State) who they split with. Nine of the guys on that team went on to play in the NBA.

Their average point differential that season was 22 points.

That year, we beat an elite eight Mizzou team by 52. I was at the game. It was like a college team playing a high school team.

Mizzou was also a #1 seed, along with Arkansas, North Carolina and Purdue.

LOL at Missouri. That was probably their best team in history -- went undefeated in the Big 8 and made one of their very few Elite Eight appearances. And Arkansas absolutely embarrassed them.

The correct answer is 1996 Kentucky. Its the best team in school history. Rupp's teams ran roughshod across the South but you cant compare that era to the modern era. Weve had a few teams that are coulda woulda shoulda but 1996 was clearly our best ever. I believe 2010 was Calipari's best team here. If Jodie Meeks had returned for his senior year, my goodness...that probably becomes the best team in UK history then. 2012 and 2015 were nice but I think people have a revisionist mindset about them. Pitino's 1996 absolutely humiliates, obliterated and dominated from start to finish, point blank period.
