Anyone but Bama.

i would take these two teams over every team on that list.

Had 1/9 gone differently I think everyone would agree that 2011 LSU would have been the best team and season probably ever

Only undefeated teams should be in consideration imo

2011 Alabama is the best overall team in the divisional age.
There are cases to be made for other teams, but only a small handful (LSU 03, UF 08, Bama 12 jump out to me, LSU 11 is also on the short list).
Just because a team goes undefeated doesn't mean they were somehow automatically one of the best ever. All 5 teams I listed above had 1 loss and I think they are clearly 3 of the best teams the SEC has had in the divisional era.
It's clear Alabama 11 and 12 were much better overall teams than 09, despite 09 being undefeated.

*sigh*
Being undefeated is as much a product of schedule and luck as anything.
just as an example Tennessee 98, that team was completely unremarkable and unimpressive in every way. I'd rank them below almost every team on OP's original list.

Bama and LSU 11 very likely to be 1a/1b the more I think about it.
Both of those teams were so dominant and looked completely unbeatable every single game, except when they played each other.
All the other teams on the list didn't have the level of dominance as consistently or the level of NFL talent.
Sort of an ironic twist of fate that two of the likely best ever SEC teams of all time happened to exist the same year in the same division.

I'll go homer and pick 2004 Auburn. Best defense in the country. That D was nasty. And 3 top draft picks in the backfield. Ronnie and Caddie punished people, and Campbell was a damn good qb. That team was hellagood in all three phases.
That's my homer pick, cuz there are some great teams on your list.

1992 Alabama
1993 Auburn
1998 Tennessee
2004 Auburn
2009 Alabama
2010 Auburn
I'll take any of the undefeated teams. They each found a way to win every game.

2010 Auburn. Might say Im a little biased, but the fact of the matter is that that team was on a whole nother level.

Perfect example of why I laugh at this thread every time it comes up.
Bammers try to convince everyone that a team with a loss belongs on an "all time" comparison list.
If you are not even good enough to go undefeated, you can't be the best ever. You just can't be.

2011 LSU and Bama
Without a doubt. They demolished everyone they played, except each other. 1/9 was no fault of that LSU team, but the coaches. So to me those two are interchangeable as 1a/1b.

There's no way a team led by young Jay Barker is the best SEC team since 1990.
