Not saying Lock is bad, but I think it's legitimate for people to want to see him play really well against even semi-decent competition before anointing him a top QB.

This is reasonable.

I will say though, that even against bad competition, putting up 404 yards and 5 TDs in less than 2 quarters of play is impressive. He is still young, but he's working now with a legit OC and QB coach in Josh Heupel. His ceiling is extremely high.

The answer is Drew Lock.

Really good against Eastern Michigan and Deleware.

Really bad against WVU and UGA.

Seems legit.

Maybe you haven't heard. We got a dropping problem at Mizzou.

Do you happen to know his WAR?

Stats are nice. But they don't tell it all.

Lock has the most elite combo of arm and foot talent in the league. Plus he's got a ton of elasticity for growth -- as opposed to a Knight or Kelly who are sort of full grown men at this point.

Sure. But Delaware State is like a mediocre high school team.

I think Austin Allen would be a legit Heisman candidate in ole Miss offense. He's more fundamentally sound, throws deep balls on the numbers and doesn't turn the ball over. He has not turned the ball over since the first half of the first game

Allen wont put up the numbers of lock or Kelly because we don't run a spread but I wouldn't trade him and he's gonna go higher in the draft then both

I really like Sean white honestly dude gets no love and he really solid with shite wide outs

Eason, Kelly, Allen, lock should all b playing on sunday

I think kniht is athletic enough to be a wide receiver on the next level but not a qb. Same with Dobbs. Don't know what to make of hurts yet

Eason need to learn how to throw with touch.

The dropoff after 5 is monumental.

Kinda makes me wanna fap having our true freshman on a list of upper classmen. By the time he's a junior, Hurts is gonna be a bad motherfricker.

He was far from bad vs Georgia.

WVU was first game of the year, before the new offensive scheme had hope of finding rhythm and timing -- and WVU plays a funky defense, only one other team plays it.

You all will bow in my general direction when Drew is a picked in the top 5.

I pick Austin Allen over Kelly because I see too much of Kelly just chunking it and getting bailed out by his receivers.

Austin Allen puts the ball exactly where it needs to be.

I expect Allen to get a high draft grade and declaring for the NFL after this season, as long as he isn't injured.

He wasn't that bad. In the WVU game, his receivers dropped a ton of passes, but they still put up over 450 yards. It was also the first game under new coaches and new schemes. The defense was awful in that game too. They've looked better and sharper in every game since. If we played WVU later in the year, I think we'd win that game.

In the Georgia game, he threw some picks, yes. After Georgia adjusted. And our coaches went very conservative with the play calling too.

I'm OK with people not anointing him just yet. But to not have him in the conversation of top half of the league is kind of silly.

I would be upset over that but if that is the case. We are talking about a very good season

Blake Sims (a running back playing quarterback), playing in his first game at QB under a new coordinator running a new system, led Alabama to 538 total yards and went 24/33 for 250 yards against that funky West Virginia D.

You can keep making excuses for whatever reason, but Lock just has to prove he is elite against good defenses. Throwing for 786 yards against Delaware State isn't going to impress anybody. He's a talented dude, he'll do it eventually. Just kind of silly to act like people are nuts for not agreeing with you based on the resume so far.

He threw 3 INT against Georgia. How is that far from bad?

I don't see him declaring. If we had a serviceable oline our team would be nasty. I never seen a QB take so many hits like he did against A&M.

Nobody is saying Lock doesn't have things to prove.

But for the visionaries out there, the humans like myself with the gift of seeing and feeling on intuitive levels -- it's obvious Lock is special.

As much value as there is on stats -- there is also value in what our eyes can see. I guarantee you any expert qb evaluator would put his money on Lock being a future top 5 pick.

There were 2 or 3 balls that Allen threw that I could not believe a college QB threw. Just impossible angles across the field, and they were put on the receiver's fingertips.

All while taking a beating I haven't seen a QB take in a long, long time.

Dude is a tough MF.

By the end of the year you all will know the name of Drew Lock very well. The guy is going to be a great one.

Lock will be going up against LSU and Florida the next two weeks, so we'll see where he's at. I personally think the first game against WVU will be the game that will prove unrepresentative of his overall play this year (45% completions at 5.5 YPA). He did have all those turnovers against Georgia in the second half, but he also completed 60% of his passes at 9.9 YPA. We could have beat Georgia easily if we would have settled for WR screens and short passes to our TEs in the second half.
