It was definitely close. He was hot right off the bat in his freshman year, too.

quote:I like how you tried to casually play that off. Name one skill player on Auburn's team that was even close to Harvin.
Other than Harvin

what skill player from Tebow's tenure is still playing in the NFL?
What skill players from the 2010 Auburn team are playing in the NFL? McCallebb is a corner in the NFL and wasn't even drafted.
I guess you want to ignore the skill players that got drafted from his tenure too, huh?
L. Murphy - 4th
Chris Rainey - 5th
A. Hernandez - 4th
R. Cooper - 5th
M. Gillislee - 5th
A. Caldwell - 3rd
C. Ingram - 5th
Now go ahead and name all those talented skill players from Auburn's 2010 team that were drafted.

(Kestahn Moore) in Tebow's Heisman season had 580 yards rushing while Cam had Dyer (1,093)
Moore averaged 5.6 ypc while Dyer averaged 6.0

Shaw is way better than Murray and I'm willing to bet most others would agree with that statement.

Yeah, he refused to lose all those games that he actually won.
But those close games against Auburn, LSU, UGA, & Michigan in his Heisman year, those don't count.

Let's see.
One of the QB's listed above won 36 games as a starter in 4 years.
The other won 33 games as a starter in 3 years.
One has started an NFL game as a QB.
One has not.
That's enough for me.

Tebow was a 3 year starter and major contributor for a second national title. Cam Newton was battling John Brantley for the backup QB job.
We have a single year to compare against an entire career of Tebow.

No he didn't. Cam took a medical rs in 08 after hurting his ankle in the Hawaii game. He was never behind Brantley.

Murray comes off as too much of a douche for me to support any claim he has

We need to bring up Murray's record against ranked teams.

It's comparable to Derek Dooley's (as a HC), and that's saying something

They battled all spring for the backup spot, I had thought Meyer had moved him up following spring practices. My mistake.
Doesn't really change the underlying point however.
