How so? I don't see Alabama fans constantly tearing Auburn down when something positive is posted about Auburn academics. We don't come out of the woodwork trying to discredit email every little study touting Auburn like you guys do Alabama. They
I personally have tons of friends that went to Auburn most of whom were good students. I did however know some very marginal students who also got into Auburn as well and did fine as was also the case with Alabama. Auburn grads have very valid reasons to be proud of their school and their degree. Some of you however have a real unrealistic sense of elitism when it comes to where Auburn stands in comparison to Alabama. Your school is certainly every bit as good and maybe slightly better than Alabama but that's about it . Despite what some of you may think, Auburn isn't light years ahead of Alabama academically.

What am I saying that is delusional? I haven't knocked Auburn at all so I don't understand where your insinuation that I am being hypocritical or "being what I chastise". That is unless you consider me not acknowledging Auburn as light years ahead of Alabama as some kind of insult or chastisement.

I didn't read the nuances of the article but no Auburn engineering and Alabama engineering appearing on the list makes me question the list.

Yet, when they get their degrees, how many are staying in the state of Alabama. So the state is becoming a mercenary of education to out of state kids and paying for the infrastructure of the Universtiy, while getting nothing in the long term. Both AU and UA need to serve the citizens of Alabama first, instead of chasing an egotistical numbers game.
That's not UA's fault. Alabama has been experiencing brain drain for quite some time. People that score a 1600 on the SAT or a 36 on the ACT may go to Alabama - or Auburn - on a full ride. But they'll most likely go to a prestigious grad school and GTFO. Nothing Bama or AU can do to change that in the short term. So why not take advantage of it?

EXACTLY!!! Until the State of Alabama becomes a destination state for Uber talented graduates it's dumb to fret over scholarship money. You may as well attract the best out of state students that will likely be future donors to the school.

The problem is that the taxpayers have to pay for the infrastructure of the schools to support the 50% out of state students that tuition would not normally cover. For schools to make up for it, they raise tuition across the board. By doing so they out price the instate student. It becames a "catch 22" and the Citizens are not served, because most of the out of state students leave and never become a tax generator.

I was curious. My son, at the moment, is interested in Computer Engineering.
I have a CpE degree and if I had to to do over again it would choose mechanical, chemical, or something with an environmental/petroleum emphasis. That's where the money is now.

I knew what his response would be to this. I did that dance with NYC before.
He will never answer your question. He is not here to discuss anything. You will only get snarky little quips and emoticons. Sad individual.

You are probably patient zero when it comes to homeristic delusions.

What do you want to discuss? remember Im going to laugh at you if you make something up or bring your typical delusions into the conversation.

I have absolutely no illusion that you will discuss anything, but since I made the challenge, here it is. Explain what you mean here:

He made the point (obvious to everyone in the nation outside the state of Alabama) that Bama and auburn are academically in the same general category. In fact, he took it a step further - he said that maybe auburn is even slightly ahead.
For this, you respond with accusations of hypocrisy and delusion. Explain that. (And if you are interested in making a point, explain it clearly and without snarky attacks.)

He also said the reverse to the first sentence was untrue, thats where the delusion is. Youve been a prime example of this on many occasions as well. I stated this already and it was blown off. Sorry, I dont feel the need to baby you guys by repeating myself and breaking down every aspect of it for you.
Really there is no point with some of you, yourself and GT, because when the majority of your post regarding Auburn are in the same mindset, I feel the need to only point and laugh sometimes
If youve noticed Ive never stated anything disparaging as far as Alabama's academics in this thread, if I did, it was an obvious joke. In fact I corrected IP on a few things.
