It seems like there are always stories of guidance counselors (primarily from lower Alabama) that are the only source of this kind of stuff. You don't really hear about this kind of stuff from the counselors from the Birmingham or Huntsville areas.
You are correct. Larger Schools Councelors are responsible for getting kids money they would not normally find. I know a local HS top 5 graduates who recieved scholarships from Harvard, Princeton, Georgetown, Vandy and Auburn. They all credited the "baby sitters" counselors for working the details out. Again, unless you were home schooled, you opinion is not the norm.

It's flawed that taking recent grad surveys for 900 or so students is an objective way to measure the highest paying degrees/colleges between two different schools?
Did they do that? there is your flaw. and you contiue to jump all over the place with your logic

that's delusional?

Your defense to me pointing this out is that I'm projecting? I seriously, no projection lmao, don't get how you think this isn't freaking delusional.
your continued posting only furthers it. please continue. I like to laugh

Yes, they used recent college grad surveys from Auburn and Alabama. These both would provide about 900 answers with a 30% respondent rate. What don't you understand.

You really cant make this shite up.
Well I guess you can, as you did.
Do you not see how its delusional when you make shite up? Do you know what the term delusional means?

still trying to defend guidance counselors. Everyone knows they don't do shite and their opinion is hardly better than any random person off of the street. At both Auburn and Alabama, you get the right ACT and GPA. You apply. They offer your their predefined scholarships. No guidance counselor needed.
Who knows, maybe you could have gotten into a better school if your had used you Counselor.

Seven pages of argument over which middle tier university is better, based on this completely disreputable survey versus what somebody heard at auburn about high school counselors' opinions.
Now THAT you can't make up.
Now THAT you can't make up.

I am the one that threw out that 30% number, the surveys failed to state their criteria. It could have been less.

Just fair warning, arguing with NYCAuburn and IronsPuppet is like arguing with a wall with and Auburn logo painted on it. There is also a 75% chance they are the same person.
Save yourself the headache.

It's hilarious to me that either side is so passionate about this. Alabama and auburn are not far enough apart academically to warrant this passion.
I do agree with your assessment, though.

coming from you? Ill just wait for a response/rustled thread from you where you make something up, then get called out, only to continue to act like a dumbass.
sorry for posting logic in a thread filled with failures.

Somebody has to stand up against the propaganda machine.

That's exactly what I do up here in Indianapolis. These Big Ten fans have to constantly be reminded of their place in the world.

I never said they were worthless, but if there was any merit to the whole thing about Alabama accepting more provisional students that don't count against their stats (the common argument I hear from the guidance counselor source), there more than likely would have been actual articles written about it rather than it being just rumors.

Why would there be articles written about it. That is the Universitys business. Since the Schools release their own stats, another school would have to challenge the information. Most do not care.

Neither do I. And neither do all the computer science majors who report to me in IT.

Ugh,
LINK
LINK
"Spring 2011 semester, 2,256 students received the email, with 754
responding. In summer 2011 semester, 818 graduating seniors were emailed, with 291
responding. Reminder messages were sent two weeks out from each initial email. In total, the
exit survey for the 2010 academic year resulted in responses from 1,458 students, for a response
rate of 34.5%."
I was thinking in terms of one semester in my inital estimate, which came to be 900 responses. Auburn's actual report says they got 818 responses just for engineering at the end of one semester. And look, their average came out to be $54,884 as the website clearly shows, which would have been last place on the inital link's ranking. So, my estimate was conservative, as I intended for it to be. In conclusion, since you're slow, the data is even more accurate than I "made up" and Auburn didn't place on the list.
