Not survey. Saban

He also recently said that it's no longer the case with how cfb has changed.

Bama and Georgia are the gold standard coaching spots right now. That might change but that's where it stands today.

Mind you his greatest regret in his career is leaving LSU as well.

Yes. His greatest regret is leaving LSU. Period. Right?

Which, of course, led to him ending up at Alabama... where they have a statue of him... where he became, quite literally, the greatest college football coach to ever live... where he won six national championships...

But his greatest regret was leaving LSU.

Got it.

I mean, you COULD post his full quote in context, but that wouldn't fit the narrative you are attempting to create, now would it?

Damn, Louisiana State has only won the SEC twice in 15 long seasons

One of only 4 schools to do so in that time frame. Bama and UGA have been dominant.

He could have left Alabama at ANY time and gone back, correct? He didn't have a buyout.

This is daft

Of course he wasn’t going to leave Alabama when the LSU job was available. He was established at Alabama.

His regret is leaving LSU in the first place

There is nothing to spin. If Saban wanted the LSU job you could have taken him at any point. He never had a buyout to leave Alabama, he was always free to leave at any point. All anyone had to do was make him a better offer.

So you're full of shite.

Auburn with only 2 SEC titles in the last 15 years ?

Give em time. They can improve that number by January, and add a national title to boot

Fantastic spin. I’m sure it hurt you to watch him tell an LSU alum that his greatest regret professionally was leaving LSU

he’s also said before that Alabama was the best job available when he wanted to go back to college, and that LSU was not available

Feel free to google that one

You can find the quote, it’s recent, from The Pivot podcast. It went viral and there are several articles.

While I have you, just a quick note. LSU stole your coach in the middle of your greatest season in modern college football era. We are now raiding your cabinets for assistants and recruits. It has to suck waking up realizing you are a stepping stone program, no different than Tulane or some G5 school. LOL

Dude Ed fricking Orgeron not only won a title but put together the greatest team this sport has ever seen in that job. It’s the easiest P5 coaching job to win at in the country.

He was obviously talking about leaving college football, you just need to believe more as a means of coping.

Does it bother you that you could have taken him at any point and won all those national championships instead of watching Alabama do it over and over? You wouldn't be a team that loses 3-4 games a year almost every year during your golden age if you had hired him back.

You weren't even rated #1 in the power rankings that year.

There are 2 sides of the ball, the other side is called defense and you didn't even have a top10 defense. That's why you barely won games by margins of 3, 5 and 7.

I love how much this one is getting under bammer's skin. They've started multiple threads trying to "disprove" Saban's opinion

I don’t cope over college sports bud, or any for that matter. Just stating a fact, he is directly quoted.

It bothered me back in the day for sure.

But now you have Kalen as your coach, which I find hilarious. Not just because of his gay little name, but also because it was a lame duck hire.
