I'll agree with the OP to a point. This is a great match up. Both teams are very good, they're close in talent and both are well coached. I'm anticipating one helluva game. I think Florida wins, but ain't putting any money on it.

Then you must be just as old as him.

I'm in my 20's and the charity of my choice will be $100 richer thanks to this thread.

At this point it is easy to say a 2nd rounder could go in the first. Just look at where different projections put Clausen and Cody.

Javy's undersized but look at the value someone like Hester has brought to his team.

He'll be an immediate impact on special teams, and probably a nickle or dime starter at CB. There are a lot of teams that will do worse looking for a weapon with a late 1st pick.

You'd think someone so supremely confident in victory would accept my original offer of a $2,000 wager instead of a measly C note.

Does Florida vs. Florida count? (Tim Tebow and Urban Meyer affectionately wrestling with each other)

Update: 5 1st rounders

Tebow (check)
RoLo (check)
Haden (check)
Pouncey (wasn't sure if he'd come out)
Kareem (Didn't expect him until 2nd-3rd)

6 rounds and 10 to go...

I figure quite a few will come off the board in the 2nd.

I predicted 5 all-americans for Bama turns and got called a moron for it.

This game had 2 heisman trophy winners + the Butkis award winner in it...

I missed on some of my predictions but certainly hit on enough to not be considered "delusional".

We'll know the damage by Sunday one way or the other.

Really? UT had two first rounders. I guess UF vs UT was the greatest matchup ever this past year..

Well clearly a few with potential fell just as a few rose.

We will probably see Dunlap, Spikes, Cody, Arenas come off in the 2nd.

10 drafted in the top 2 rounds

12 through 3 looks like we're losing some momentum.

Top on the board:
Hernandez - UF
Peek - Bama (IMO)

Just because the game had a lot of NFL talent didn't mean it was the best ever. Last year SC had the most players drafted of any team in the SEC + a few more signed later. Guess that means their '08 game vs UF was epic.

So.Cal vs Texas was for the national title, not just a conference title, So.Cals big arse winning streak was on the line, Texas came from behind and won by doing what Vince Young does best.. running the ball. That game / matchup > last years SECCG.

A painfully, painfully unintelligent Bama fan thinks that the SECCG from this past season is the absolute greatest college football game ever played. He argued this for about 8 or 9 pages until he and arrakis made a $100 bet that 15 players wouldn't be drafted from the two teams combined. Said idiot bumped the thread today

That or damn lucky... make that bet again this season.

Don't come here telling us "I told you so"

You look like a arrogant POS when you do.

I was updating this thread for the draft.

Considering the thread lead to a bet I'm clearly going to win, of course I'm going to bump it.

Say what you want, looks like I know more about NFL talent than what was posted in this thread back in December. I've got a lot of crow to dish out Sunday.

It no longer is about the 2009 SECCG, it was an argument I raised beforehand that it had the potential to be the best MATCHUP not the best game ever. That part of the thread is long gone, now its clearly my ability to evaluate NFL talent as compared to the all knowing, all mighty Arrakis who was CLEARLY wrong.
