I would say UF is at the top. Elite basketball and baseball. SCe would be close as well.
UF basketball and Baseball make a solid point
if Grant can get Bama to the tourney in this year of self nukeration I would argue us somewhere up at the top (though our baseball ain't what it was three years ago)
SCar is relying on Baseball and Football? I don't know... Spurrier has been doing good, but he's been doing good for SCar

Period.
I think their coaching is equal to superior.
IS THAT A GOOD ENOUGH ANSWER FOR YOU?
sure thing bud
we'll just take all our "talent and resources" and keep winning with the coaches we got at Bama
GOD now I really want to sweep Arky with an undermanned team on Saturday

Bama just getting to the tournament wouldn't be good enough. I'm talking guys who have been to a NC as a HC and possible won it. I know Saban has, but some Bama fans aren't even sure how long Grant will be around. Bama is the best in 1 category, but there's 3.

Lol, you don't think Arkansas is undermanned?
Do you just want to argue or something cuz you're not even in the conversation right now. GTFO

Okay so first your Akry guys come on here and make some claim that your collection of coaches is "teh tits!"
then when other people ask you to list their great accomplishments you guys complain that titles don't matter
when we say that's stupid you say "well they're undermanned"
your argument sucks and, frankly, I don't know where it's coming from

There was so much hope for Grant at the beginning of the year
hopefully we can finish strong this year and have an up year next year but yea until he wins a title you're right
Billy Donovan is the king of SEC basketball coaches and Florida Baseball is in the top of the league
Florida probably wins the argument

So we like our coaches...don't you like your coaches? This was opinion based. So you don't agree, fine.

I think Petrino would do just as well at Bama or LSU. Sue me for thinking so.
As for Anderson, it's his first year and he has like 7 scholarship players right now. Let's hold off judgment here. As for now, I would not trade him.

Well if that's the case then LSU should be a unanimous number 1.
We all know what Les has done and it always seems to be a hog fan that discredits his accomplishments. You have an opinion Shreveport, and I have mine. I think most would agree Miles>> Petrino at this time and looking to be the foreseeable future.
As for basebal Gator l, in 2009 we won it all in dominating fashion. Including a blowout victory over this great Arkansas coach some of you pigs are preaching. We also won three straight SEC tourneys from 08-10. We missed out on the 11. You made it to the CWS final and lost. That's something we have never done.
Trent Johnson is the only thing keepIng us down, but maybe he gets it turned around. I kind of doubt it, but stranger thing have happened.

Until Petrino gets a defense that can help out their insane offense I won't say that he wins at Bama or LSU

Right...if he had your state's defensive talent with his offense, I feel he could win a title.

Did you just give me the greatest of insults and refer to me as a hog fan?
I'M APPALLED!
It's not the talent, it's the focus on coaching that talent and stock piling depth with over signing and giving the

it's not just the talent it has a lot to with coaching
if Petrino can't get defensive talent with the program exposure he's had lately than he needs to work on his recruiting

His first hire was Ellis Johnson...we had to scramble for Willy (ugh). Now we fired him, let's see what happens when we start getting a little talent in there with the new coaching.
If you had asked me this when we had Nutt/Pelphrey, my stances would be completely different FYI.

I don't think its the "best 3" combo of hte conference but it has to be near the top.
Baseball - Tanner - everyone knows his accomplishments
Football - Spurrier - 1st 11-win season, SEC East Title, highest finish of any Gamecock team in the polls, players setting a bunch of school records
Horn - God have we sucked the last 3 years but people forget we officially "won" the SEC East title in his 1st year.
So its not so bad.

Spurrier deserved credit... but that loss to Auburn last year has me biased against him
Posted on 2/21/12 at 3:06 pm to DC RaiseHerBack
This thread is flawed in that the coaches that some are proclaiming as the "best trio" have never had to defend a Championship and the ones that are not considered the "best trio" have had to coach having the ole "bulls eye" on their back following a Championship season. As we all (or most of us) know... it becomes exponentially more difficult the year after a championship.
Something simply doesn't seem fair about this and I think we should table this thread until all coaches have had the ole bulls eye on their back at least once.
