I've been to BDS, overall I liked it. The stadium itself was nice, but I thought the atmosphere was slightly lacking. Should be awesome when you close in the other endzone. My biggest complaint was the fans being so far away from the actual field -- I felt pretty far removed and I was sitting about 10 rows from the bottom.

Personally, I would like to see LSU work on the bowl (bathrooms, concessions, dorms, etc) before we work on the south EZ. I would also like to see them freshen the facade with the same Coliseum-esque theme, especially on the south side. Those bare support beams

All that is supposed to be addressed in the south end zone expansion, whenever it takes place.

LSU is trying to determine how many suites and club seating to add as opposed to regular seating.

I agree. One year, we should do the bathrooms and concessions/corridor, the next we should freshen up the insides and outsides of the stadium.

That would be fantastic! I also hear Alleva wants some sort of Tiger Plaza where north stadium drive is between Mike's habitat, the stadium, and the PMAC -- that would be pretty sweet

It was posted on here a few months ago. It was referenced that he wants to take that area and make some sort of open promenade to LSU athletics and its achievements. There weren't any details really, and it could have been straight conjecture. It basically sounded like he wanted to use that area to showcase LSU athletics and create a better gameday atmosphere there

best campus and facilities in sec west?

Here in Texas nobody gives a shite about Bama either.

I'm around non-SEC fans all day. In any objective poll, divorced of homers, I think Alabama would finished *at best* fourth as far as stadium respect goes. I've had numerous USC homers tell me "man, LSU, I've always wanted to see a game there." A few Pac-10 guys have mentioned wanting to see a game at Florida or Tennessee.

A grand total of zero have ever said jack shite about wanting to see a game at Bryant-Denny. Nobody gives a shite about that stadium nationally.

No one but the LA Times that is...

The discussion was whether people around the country think Bryant-Denny is 'the Taj Mahal of college football,' not articles about spring games that are actually making fun of you

The problem here as I see it is:

1)Tiger Stadium is old and ugly but it is also big, loud, and probably one of the most intimidating atmospheres in the country. Death Valley isn't a Lexus. It's a medieval torture device that you have to go spend some time with every two years.

2)Arkansas has what seems to be the consensus nicest facilities but Razorback Stadium only seats 72k and is about as intimidating and rowdy as a nursing home.

And here is where the problem is and why we are at 6 pages

3)Bama fans are the most delusional group of people in the world. Most of their facilities are ho-hum or on par with the middle of the pack SEC teams, at best. Their football stadium is large, and nice, but they are too prideful and/or delusional to recognize that there just might be a team out there with a "nicer" stadium, even though smaller.

I am now convinced that Bama fans never travel or just refuse to accept truths that fall out of line with their self-absorbed way of thinking.

Most are talking about the facilities, but as far as the campuses are concerned, LSU's is heads and shoulders more beautiful than the other campuses with the oak trees, the lake, etc.

I've been to every campus multiple times with the exception of Arky. Other campuses in the West that I think are nice are Ole Miss and Bama. State and Auburn's campuses are blah.

When does the contract J. Frank signed before the 99 season end? I know it specifically states that there must be a SEC game be in War Memorial. I also understand that Murphy Oil has a vested interest in keeping games there.

I personally like our campus better, but to each his own.

I have traveled to ten of the twelve SEC stadiums, as well as Texas, Oklahoma, Penn State, Florida State, and Oregon. I have to put Bryant-Denny (and other football related facilities) near the top, among all of these fine facilities. Yes, BDS is large, but it also is very appealing, and has had many great upgrades since 2005. The football building, weight room, practice fields, and indoor facility is among the best as well. Of course, having visited many other places, there are small things here and there I like better about other places, but overall I would take Alabama's football facilties just about every time. Now, other sports, well, lets just say they leave a lot to be desired.

Every Alabama fan thinks their stadium the best.

We get it

No one else in the nation agrees or even gives a shite about Bryant-Denny.
