Derrick Henry. And Lane Kiffin still doesn't know what to do with him.

Did you watch the 2015 season at all?

Courtney Upshaw is one of my favorites. He isn't the best but he played with a nasty streak.

He held 7 D1 offers and not 1 was Texas Tech.

At one point he was committed to Texas Tech

Most important recruit was Julio Jones. His commitment to Saban started it all. He was elite without having elite QBs throwing to him.

Best offensive player...Tua or Henry.

Best defensive player...Minkah or Allen.

But there's probably 20 guys you could say and not be wrong. There are Heisman winners that might not even break the 2 deep on an all Saban team.

For me it’s Julio. NSD when he committed, the dynasty began. He didn’t have gaudy numbers but Saban knew when he took the job that he had to land Julio. Once he committed, the other five stars followed.

Really you can pick so many from that 2008 signing class. Ingram, Barron, Jones, Hightower. That class is when everyone realized it was different - and they all committed to a team coming off a 7-6 season.

Honorable mentions - 2014 Cooper, 2015 Henry and all three years of Minkah

Dont'a Hightower.

If I remember correctly, I think Dont’a was one of the first players at Bama Saban offered without seeing him in person. Had him on his radar and basically told the staff to get his offer out asap and he’ll do the rest of the work.

Did you know it was only wholesale injuries to the running back room that prompted Kiffin to finally feature Henry in 2015? Kiffin would brag he had no offensive identity. He was always much more interested in being cute than simply featuring what the offense did best and making the defense stop it.

It was also Kiffin who replaced Jacob Coker in the 2015 Ole Miss game with Cooper Bateman because he was looking for the next Blake Sims. Let that one sink in.
