I would say it’s 1964-1968. Arkansas went 43-9-1 with 3 SWC titles (64, 65, 68) and 1 MNC (64). 1967 was a bad year but the other four were good to great years.

You could also include 69 where we played for but lost the NC

My guess is 86-90 with a record of 47-10-3 and 3 SEC titles (2 shared)

Way back from 1912 to 1916 was really good.

54-58, the Wilkinson era. Two national titles and the 47 game winning streak.

OU 1954-1958

2 National titles
5 Conf titles
47 straight wins
Record 51-2

OU was 54-3-1 from 1971-1975...

Why I consider that period perhaps more impressive than the 50s period...

Besides winning more games... the Big 8 and Texas were both really good during that period. The Big Eight went 1-2-3 in the final national poll in 1971. A feat that has never been done before or since.

The Big 7 wasn't very good during that period and Texas was down for part of the mid '50s. Their '56 team was downright horrible. Contrast that to Texas' early '70s teams that won SWC titles every year but 1974.

State was 1939-1944 (no team in 1943 due to WWII)

Overall record 40-7-2
SEC Record 19-6-2
SEC championship-1941
Ranked all five years with the highest being #9 in 1940 when the team finished 10-0-1 and won the Orange Bowl. That would seem that the team was underrated considerably as the only blemish was a tie game with Auburn (7-7 in BHM). Had that been a win we would have won the conference back to back in 1940-41.
