Remember in 2006 when OU was in CS, and the Aggies got penalized for "12" men on the field? That was nice. As was the 17-16 win :)

Or when Jason White threw all over CS in 2004 en route to a 42-35 win.

Torrance Marshall says hi.

The SEC messed up its expansion plans.
Ideally, SEC should have added Clemson and Florida St at some point.

Absolutely not. Many of you zealots need to realize that the SEC is a business and FSU and Clemson bring nothing to the table that we dont already have. This is not about building a super competition conference. The only prime markets left to pull in to SEC are NC and VA/DC.

TV markets are why SEC schools are now raking in over $40 Mil per year each. For you business morons aTm brought in the Houston/Dalles markets and Mizzou brought in the STL/Kansas City markets.

17 years ago, and it was an illegal block in the back on that return that wasn't called.

Let's look at something more recent:

7 years ago: Texas A&M 33, Oklahoma 19

5 years ago: Texas A&M 41, Oklahoma 13

Could you imagine how much more empty your stadium would be after OU and LSU got done with Aggie every season????

Eh, yall aren't Bama.

And frankly depending on how things worked out that could be great for us. If we were playing OU and LSU every year and Texas was playing a bunch of West Coast teams (and no OU because they are pissed at OU for leaving for the SEC) then we quickly become the most important team in the state for the first time since WW2.

Anybody on here heard this before?

Anybody notice that it wasn't "and win national championships," it was "to supplant TEXAS as the most important team in the state"?

This is like a psychology experiment before our very eyes.

OU eclipses Bama all time in some cases depending on the metrics used. Either way Bama, OU, and tOSU is splitting hairs. I do have to agree it would be kind of nice to see OU tell Texas to frick themselves and play A&M every year. Could you imagine the saltiness in Austin???

Would they threaten "excommunication" the way they threatened us when we left?

I don't have to imagine. The first post responding to mine was full of salt.

I just want to laugh at how OU wants in the SEC but they won't get in all because A&M won't let them

Not sure why realignment threads always turn into a pissing match.

The SEC and the B1G do not need to expand at this time. The ACC is not an option for OU.
The PAC doesn't realize that adding UT/OU + 2 others would be in its best long term interest.

Until these conditions change OU is going nowhere.

If you want CFB to improve its national brand the best thing would be for OU/UT/OSU/TTU to go to the PAC. Otherwise, the current trend of B1G/SEC dominance in viewership could turn it in to more of a regional sport.

Oh...and being in the B12 has not hurt OU. Having an overpaid crappy DC has hurt OU.

Not yet. However, look at what's happened to the t-sips when they fell off the wagon. Their climb back, while not insurmountable, is exponentially harder than it was when they fell behind in the SWC.

I'm curious to know why you think that would be the case? OU and A&M have always had a great relationship at the university level and it wouldn't really hurt A&M regionally recruiting wise because they have already spent many years in the same conference. I really don't know what downside there would be for A&M. It would likely improve the east/west balance in A&M and OUs favor in the future as well by moving Bama and probably auburn to the east. OU, A&M, LSU, TN in the west would be a dream scenario for A&M I would think.

It would take away the conference strength pitch that A&M could use vs. Oklahoma given the fact that Norman, OK is actually closer to Dallas and Ft. Worth than College Station is.

That's a valid point but It hasn't been really very relevant at all other than 2013/2014 right after johnny. Both schools recruit about the same at this point. A&M should be far more concerned with LSU poaching Houston talent than OU getting the DFW recruits they always have..
