The funniest part is that that they are still paying recruits to visit. A coworker’s son is at Clemson. I was asking him about the recruiting process and the various schools he visited and his opinions on them. They liked Clemson (got cash from them outside of NIL-$50K). When Tennessee came up he laughed and said “if you’re in it for money, you visit Tennessee”. Said they paid the most for visits and to commit. Was actually a very interesting insight into the process. Moral of the story, Tennessee has to pay players just to visit that dump and deal with the rube nation.
Contrary to the crap being spouted about Pruitt being solely responsible for this behavior, they are still doing the same thing and Pruitt is long gone.

Washington, who was drafted in April by the Pittsburgh Steelers, is not directly named in the NCAA findings. Knox News uncovered his identity through NCAA investigative documents that referred to him as "prospective student-athlete 9" and "prospect 4," online sites that track college visits of prospective recruits, and a source with direct knowledge of the situation. The source spoke to Knox News about the recruitment on condition of anonymity.

6 players. Amazing. The two time defending National Champions had 6 good players. It must hurt that your team got beat by 6 good players and the rest were meh. And I guess our frnt 7. Yet, with a meh QB, WRs, and secondary we managed to beat a pass centered offense.
Imagine finishing 5 in offense in the nation with an overall meh offensive unit.
Imagine finishing 2nd in the country in points allowed with a meh secondary. You would think other teams would have filled the air with passes to overcome that meh secondary.
Imagine.
Imagine finishing 15th in the country in passing with a meh QB, meh WRs. Imagine.

You know they didn’t just not turn in who Pruitt and co were bidding against.
Did you even read the article?
You gave the kid $750 in cash and then an additional $1,750 in "inmpermesable benefits" on a recruiting trip.
You really think $2,500 brought about some type of bidding war between UGA and UT?

You think if he was taking cash from one school with a promise of more and signed with another school that the other school didn’t pay him? Think.
The point where it would become an issue is if the player implicated UGA (not boosters) in knowing what was happening.

When one school has a track record of NFL contracts far superior than the other school... the money is coming and it does not necessarily have to be from the university.

Name 3 UGA TEs in the NFL and their salaries.

I don't have the stat in front of me. And I'm not going to take the time to look it up.
But UGA has put an insane amount of draft picks in the NFL the past 10 seasons
And as for tight end, UGA is getting Nauta, Woerner, and Fitzpatrick drafted and in the league (i could add McKitty to that although he was a transfer in). The argument can be made... what about athletic freaks like Washington and Bower?
UGA has used the moniker TEU in the past with greats such as Ben Watson, Randy McMichael (and players like Leonard Pope and Orson Charles).

UGA TE has been drafted in each of the last 5 drafts (soon to be 6).
Nauta - 2019
Woerner -2020*
McKitty - 2021*
Fitzpatrick -2022*
Washington - 2023*
*still in NFL
Meanwhile a TE from UT hasn’t been drafted since 2013

Notice how you skipped over discussing football again.
Anyways, ncaa never made Washington ineligible. That’s a major detail you and your alter are ignoring.

It took years to finalize the Will Wade investigation and they had him on an FBI wire tap. This isn’t an instant justice 30 minute TV show.

(Interesting you refuse to carry on the football discussions but respond with quickness on this)
Not when it comes to individual players, but I assume you forgot the Aj green and Todd gurley sagas with the NCAA.
They knew what they needed to know about Darnell in advance of the 2021 season. Didn’t suspend him.
Investigation was wrapped up before the 2022 season. Didn’t suspend him.

AJ Green should have been ineligible for that year.
If the university knew what Gurley was doing then they should have vacated all games he participated in.
The NCAA did not “know what they needed to know in 2021”. And add Mimms to the list. The punishment phase was begun in mid 2023.

Ncaa suspended them with quickness. That’s what they do when they punish a player.
Sorry, but you are wrong again:
The investigation was completed last summer.
Players would have been suspended before the 2022 season at the latest.
Time for you to run from non football talk too.

Tell us all where all that cash that was promised was coming from Smokey.
You think Pruitt was taking cash out of his own pocket (Of course not), or was it coming from Tennessee's recruiting budget, or was it coming from boosters?
Any way you slice it there is still an awful lot of dirt sitting in Knoxville.
