They hung him from the goalpost beat him like a pinatta, and then set him on fire.
Maybe you should ask what undergarments he wore. Who Cares!!!!

How much interest did Alabama have in Howard Schnellenberger? He won three national titles for Bama as their OC. The guy did an unbelievable job building Miami into a powerhouse.

If memory serves me right, Schnellenberger didn't leave Tuscaloosa on the best of terms. I think the book Coach by Keith Dunnavent says something about that particular time in UA history.

You should have sent an email to an admin. That would have been an awesome alter.

That's seriously not me. I have finals this week and next so I haven't had time for any shenanigans. If that's what I really wanted to do, I would have just registered it and not started a thread about it. I'm a little irritated someone stole my idea though.

You're 1L, right? At some point I'm sure you'll have a moot court style class to work on litigation skills. I'm sure you'll hear the old mantra, "If you have the facts..pound the facts. If you have the law...pound the law. If you have neither...pound the table."
Your last post perfectly personified the last part of that quote. Good luck to you during finals.

Your dad should have rolled over and shot you on the wall!!! The post just wanted some information about the Bear and you have to say something like that. Just another classless LSU fan. Go to your board and talk about your coach calling to spike the ball with one second left.

Well at least I know I'm on the right track

Make sure to let us know how well you did this semester. The "scare you to death" year sucks. Hang in there no matter what, though.

Coach Bryant was tired and ready to retire.
this. it happened fast and that is not unusual. it's different with everyone, but jo pa and bobby bowden are exceptions. coaching is extremely intense and exhausting. one's body needs to slow down. the bear couldn't do what joe pa and bowden did, that is basically to start delegating everything. he was hands on, demanding and intense as hell. i have been telling people that saban is the same way; one day he's gonna be tired too. he's almost 60 yrs old and is micro as hell. he's probably in better shape than the bear was but father time catches everyone, esp in that business. some people can't delegate and i'd bet my last dollar that nick saban, just like the bear, is in that number.

It's scary but from what i hear it's not as bad as it used to be. LSU only failed like 1 person last year. The admissions requirements are so much higher than they used to be so they don't really take people who can't hang. That frees you up to focus more on the material.
Not to say that it isn't scary sometimes, but as someone I used to be close to always said: "focus on the process"

"....To have been in the city of Tuscaloosa in October when you were young and full of Early Times and had a shining Alabama girl by your side...to have had all that and then to have seen those red shirts pour onto the field, and, then, coming behind them, with that inexorable big cat walk of his, the man himself, The Bear....that was very good indeed.
