And the crime in the rest of the city doesn't magically stop at Bourbon or Canal. They prey on the tourists. Hell, just google iphone theft and see how many of those there are in a day in the French Qtr. Or check police reports from NOLA police. There is a crapload of crime in the "touristy" areas. Alot of assaults and violent crimes due to people not being sober and able to think clearly. When you get a ton of people in one area, drinking and/or already drunk, they act fools and crimes will happen. Like the nutdragging case. As I said, that never happens if the guy is sober and not passed out, if the guy is sober and not taking his nuts out, if the city wasn't so accepting of drunken behavior.

There is no project housing in the quarter.

It's right behind the french quarter if not technically in the FQ. It's several blocks away which is very accesible from this housing project. I know there was a huge discussion that with tons of pages I'll try to find out the name. It's been a source of intense debate with the city recently.

Iberville is the one. They neighbor the french quarter just to the west.

I am no city planner expert or anything, but having this right next to a large tourist hot spot cannot be a good thing.

Criminals don't stop at Canal and Bourbon St. They prey on the tourists, and the drunken idiots. No argument yall have offered has countered with the sleaze that NOLA allows. If the city cleaned up, that would fix alot of problems. Instead, they celebrate the debauchery and with the everything allowed atmosphere, you're going to get the worse with it.

Did you even """"""""READ"""""""" my post 4 posts above yours ?????? You are making insane remarks that have no basis in fact. There were 4 murders in the French Quarter in 2011. 4.
"Debauchery" ????? Where ??? In some places on Bourbon Street ????
Tourists that come to New Orleans don't """"""""""""""""""HAVE"""""""""""""""""" to piss, vomit, and pass out on people's doorsteps, show their breasts, etc. We're not """"""""""""""MAKING""""""""""""" them do any of that !!!!!
Soooooooooooo we're not supposed to ""celebrate"": N.O. Bowl, Sugar Bowl, Saints games and playoff games, the BCSNCG, Mardi Gras, N.O. Jazz & Heritage Festival, French Quarter Fest, etc. ????????

Guess you did't know that New Orleans is also devoutly Catholic, has the largest concentration of Catholic Diocese in the nation, and cherishes it's Spanish, French, African, German, and Italian influences ????????

What do 15-45 year old African American males shooting each other over drugs in Central city and N.O. East have to do exactly with the French Quarter ?????????????????????

I doubt you'd have any of that if the city didn't allow the public lewdness that they do. That's what you're not getting. The city allowing so much to happen, leads to incidents like the one caught on video. It's a haven for drunks, bad behavior and sexual deviancy and it's celebrated by the city and passed off as "culture".

Been there a million times. Never had any problems. I would urge you to stay away from canal. keep among the crowds on Bourbon, don't go past White's Sports Bar after dark and you will be fine. Enjoy.

Has nothing to do with our culture.

From this point forward I'm just going to assume you're only angry that it wasn't Saban's nuts and wasn't your face.

That's all you've done this thread, assume. Stands to reason you'll continue to do the same.

I am sorry that the sophisticated devil may care atmosphere in the French Quarter inspires some Alabamians to feel free to whip out their nutsack and commit a crime on an unconscious guy. If this isn't implicitly understood in Alabama that this is not a cool thing to do, maybe the State of La. could place a billboard at the state line indicating as such: "Dear Alabamians: we like to party and have fun in this state. We enjoy our food and drink. This is no way implies that when someone has had too much to drink and has passed out, it is OK for you to, Deliverance-style, get your depraved sexual jollies off by taking out your nutsack and placing it on the unconscious guy's head. Thanks for your understanding and have a great time!"

I'll say for about the 12th time. I don't condone it, nor has any others that have posted about it hardly. But NOLA accepts trash behavior, and to see the fake outrage by some of you when that city is filth to begin with, is ludicrous.

Could we put up a sign to typical Louisiana residents like you asking them not to shoot us?

I am using his techniques of generalization on him. I don't actually think that. I assume people are smart enough and can pick up on the technique.

Wait a second: did the LSU fan in the video die? I keep seeing this but can't find a link to back it up.

Where? Not in New Orleans. What is your goal here? Why are you so upset with New Orleans?
You are making up stuff that natives like myself know are totally preposterous.

Again. 99% of the murders happen in areas that NO ONE, let alone tourists would venture anywhere near, unless they are between 15-45 years old, male, are AA, and in a gang or doing drugs.
Is Mayor Landrieu and the NOPD dealing with this? Of course they are.

New Orleans hosts the biggest outdoor free show every February, and RARELY are there any violent crimes and murders. Why ?????
BECAUSE MARDI GRAS IS NOT HELD IN THE CRIME AREAS OF CENTRAL CITY AND N.O. EAST !!!!!!!!

We had 800,000 people downtown for the Saints Super Bowl parade 2 years ago. No problems, no turned over police cars, no riots, no fires.

Seattle tried to do a Mardi Gras 2 years ago, and the whole city fell apart into massive rioting and destruction of property !!!!

What do have against a city that has one of the richest traditions of architecture, food and dining, entertainment, jazz and music, oil and gas industry, seafood industry, one of the largest ports in the WORLD that proviedes the entire U.S. heartland with goods, and one of the greatest convention destinations on the planet, as well as most popular tourist attractions for weddings, honeymoons, halloween, new year's eve, etc.

Don't act like you know it all, because in reality, you don't know anything.......

Thought you were a pretty cool poster, but it turns out you're similar to some of your other Taaaahd bretheren - pompous, arrogant, wildly misinformed, and, even in victory, some of the biggest anal regions this side of a mooning contest in China.....

I bet there were over 100 more violent crimes committed that night but this one is great for political leverage. DA's are elected officals so Moore will use to this like it was the Son of Sam killer.
