Hopefully things start to turn around a bit next year.

Auburn and State should be better, hopefully Arkansas is a little bit better, Florida should be better, Missouri can't be much worse, etc.

If we are really as bad as people itt think we'll be we may only win like 6 games with the schedule we're playing.

Turner/Bone/Parker
Phillips/Mostella
Hubbs/Bowden/Johnson
Schofield/Fulkerson
Alexander/Extra Scholly/Williams

Stacked Maui Field
@UNC
Gonzaga (Nashville)
GT
UVA (DC)
@Indiana
@ETSU
UTC

I just don't see a lot of scorers left on the roster unless Hubbs finally breaks out. Mostella? Hubbs? The class coming in is pretty deep and solid, but there aren't any big time gamechangers in it. And that schedule is rough.

I can't believe you guys are playing at ETSU. That is pretty cool (and the folks up there will love it). And it's a tough game.

Auburn - Another rebuilding year. Freshmen Heron and Harper could be starters right away.

Quite the contrary. Thanks for your lack of knowledge tho

I think last year's freshman class is decent and when you sign 7 guys in one class you are bound to hit on a couple (I think Bowden, Fulkerson, Bone and Johnson are most likely) and we don't know who the 7th signee will be.

Barnes also is VERY high on Turner. Said he would have easily been 3rd best player on the team if he was eligible and said he will be a top 5 PG in the league next year.

The 5 spot could still be terrible depending on Alexander's development and who we sign in the spring but I think we are competitive everywhere else especially if Hubbs takes a step and Mostella can continue to score off the bench like he did in the SECT.

Maybe.

If I were to do preseason power rankings, it'd be:

1. UK
2. A&M
3. UF
4. UGA
5. Mississippi State
6. Arkansas
7. Vanderbilt
8. Alabama
9. Ole Miss
10. South Carolina
11. Missouri
12. Auburn
13. LSU
14. Tennessee

Turner will definitely be the biggest impact newcomer (maybe the best player on the team if Hubbs doesn't break out).

We will find out about this 7 man class once they get here but it is hard to project when they all seem pretty close in ability. I think Bone is probably the safest bet to be a solid player.

Yea, it can be hard to predict which guys show up and contribute and which don't once you get past the Top 20 or so national guys.

Dazon Ingram was probably our best player the first 4 weeks until he broke his foot and he was a 3-star true freshman.

We'll probably have a better team but maybe not a better record cuz our schedule is murderers row.

I know who's on your roster -- you have talent. Talent doesn't always translate to wins.

If Harper can be a legit PG from day one and Purifoy is as good as advertised you'll be middle-of-the-pack. I don't think either of those things will be the case.

I would just be happy for Auburn to make the NIT.

We are NOT a basketball school and something as little as that would mean a lot for our fans and students to see.

I understand that we are improving, but we need something "tangible" right now, other than the University saying "next year...next year...next year.

I would honestly be happy with that, right now in my opinion.

C- Trayvon Reed
F - Horace Spencer
F - Daniel Purifoy
PG - Jared Harper
SG - Mustapha Heron

Looks like we'll play 2 true freshman in Harper and Heron, IMO. We're looking at grad transfers that could shape the complexion of our team, though.

Yea, I think Auburn needs to show some real improvement next year. Pearl has rightfully gotten a 2 year pass, and he has filled the roster with talent. Auburn should start to be a competitive basketball team next year. If not, it was have to be classified as a pretty major disappointment.

In other words unless non conf gets significantly better SEC is looking at another 2/3 bid league at most. It's hard to put a finger on why SEC can't get better in hoops. maybe over time the SEC network windfall will improve facilities across conference. There is no reason for Big 12 to be a better hoops conference than SEC.

You can blame this on Mizzou. 5 years ago we were the best team in the country at one point

Should be a fun roster to watch. Some solid veterans on the bench too (Dean, Brown, Lang).

They will probably take a while to mesh and I'm sure have growing pains, but they will be really talented.

Has recruiting just completely fallen off over there?

A&M lost a shite ton. 2 assistant coaches and 4 starters.

However we have quite a bit of young talent. Davis(SO), Trocha-Morelos(JR), & Gilder(SO) are all good to very good players. I think Hogg(SO) & Caldwell(FR) both have the potential to be very good as well. Our bench will be short. We're going to need major contributions from Eubanks(SO) & Woods(FR). The only SR will be Miller and he is a zero on offense and fouls too often to play significant minutes. The only JR will be TTM. The rest (6) will all be FR or SO.
