Before the game:

During the game:

So everytime The Vols hit *a single homerun at any point in the game* they bring out a mink coat and a hat that says “daddy”

After the game:

Alabama’s celebration seemed a bit exuberant for the first day of of a three-game series.

Knowing that team in the other dugout, they’ll probably remember that.

Hate makes sports better, though, IMO.

quote:

@wesrucker247
#Vols’ Will Mabrey: Those guys over there are acting like they just won the World Series.

Fair to expect a chippy, chirpy game between Tennessee and Alabama on Saturday night.

Vols didn’t like Bama’s postgame celebration. But then the Vols gave the Tide strong bulletin board material.

They’re already rivals. Then that. So … yeah, probably gonna be chippy. Hahaha.

Good to see them following the tradition of Vol athletics of being absolutely bitch-made.

That’s how you know it’s a true Vol squad.

I think the trash talking that Bama is doing is great. It's fun being everybody's Superbowl. Keep it up.

This "celebration" is really what has all of them bent out of shape.

HUH the Vols trash talk the bus driver, it's really setting them up for hard fall. Baseball is a different beast and the gods don't like the mouthy look at me crap TN baseball is. It started last year when the Hogs showed up listened to all the trash they were spouting, by the end of the series those mouths and all the look at me crap was gone. This year it's worst and this week your 0-2, I have a feeling Bama about to shut that mouth again but hey you fur coats are really cool trust me.

I got no issues at all with the way Tennessee goes about their business. They play with swag and a chip on their shoulder and it works for them.

But LOL you cannot turn bitchmode Brian McCann celebration police when you lose like that if your entire schtick is loud and brash. That's pathetic.

Yeah, that was a real wild celebration. Like they’d just won the WS?? Saying that’s a bit of a stretch would be the understatement of the year.

Man I disagree, the crap TN does is not baseball. Nobody is scared of a baseball player, and it sets yourself up for emotional melt downs the baseball gods will ensure. The highs and lows better be blended or you'll get your arse beat. I'm really surprised coach V allows it but it seems he may be cut from the same cloth. We'll see but we all know the best team rarely wins, especially in the CWS.

It isn't my cup of tea but they feed off it and it's their thing and that's cool. Everyone doesn't have to play the game the same way.

However, if you are gonna be the bad boys you can't then be whiney and bitchmade when other teams give it back to you (even though Alabama didn't even do that).

This exactly. It's the bitch mode they go to immediately, last year after AR won the first two games coach V comes out after the game and tries to bow up on his daddy DVH. Bitch mode 101. I would be embarrassed if I were a fan but hey it's TN, they've haven't had a team to cheer in decades.

I mean I get that and it plays into the emotion of the game and mojo but there’s a point where you jump the shark if taken too far. I’m not saying they’re there but TV has said on an interview I saw that sometimes with the team he feels like a babysitter- and that sounds spot on with how some of them act on the field. Maybe he needs to change his approach a bit and not just be the cool young talented coach and be a little more stern or serious or whatever word I’m going for there- strike a balance anyway.
