LSU-State is the best baseball rivalry in the SEC. I always look forward to playing them. I was disappointed that the SEC put this as the first weekend of the conference season.

But for State, this was a huge series win given how the last two years have gone.
Hopefully we can build on it now.

Next Weekend

No midweek games for Arkansas this week. I like that prior to first road series. Will have entire pitching arsenal locked and loaded.

I think Farmer was right and we had a little bit of St. Patrick's Day luck going on today.

quote:

After tossing two scoreless frames, Florida’s closer Brandon Neely approached Head Coach Kevin O’Sullivan in the dugout regarding bicep pain. With Ryan Slater already making an appearance in the contest, this forced O’Sullivan to turn to an inexperienced arm in true freshman RHP Luke McNeillie, who entered the game with a 17.28 ERA. McNeillie had allowed 16 runs over his last 4.2 innings pitched and was set to face what could be the best 1–3-hole hitters in college baseball.

Reliever Luke McNeillie was called on for the save in the ninth. The freshman worked around a leadoff single to record three-straight outs, securing his first-career save and a series victory for the Orange & Blue.

They ranked ole miss for beating a terrible South Carolina team but not Miss St for blowing out #2?
