He was key Oline guy for Bama with obvious skills why did he flame out in the NFL? Injuries?

Injuries cost him a NFL career. But he’s a lock for the college football hall of fame one day.

He was never going to be that good in the NFL. He's extremely intelligent though and will inevitably be plenty successful.

TBH I don’t think he had the athletic ability to cut it. It was strange because he would manhandle people but looked like a chubby CPA off the field. One of our GOAT O-lineman though, a real cerebral lunch-pail kinda guy.

I figured he'd be at least a state senator by now. Very smart, polished dude.

This. He was highly intelligent and versatile on the OL. Helped the line make the calls and control the LOS, but he was a cerebral player and not necessarily a physically gifted one.

He was a 4th round draft without real 4th round talent. He got a Bama bump and did his best, which is admirable. I read he had a "Lisfranc" fracture, which complicated development and made him retire after dealing with chronic foot pain and not being able to get past a practice squad roster.

I know he talked about sitting for CPA, but I wish he would go into coaching.

He is regularly featured on Tide 100.9 radio. He is a deeply religious young man and uses his time on the radio to share Bible verses that inspire him. I am not religous, but I respect him so much.

He’s a god-awful announcer for ESPN radio. Says “I hate D-Linemen because I was an O-Linemen” the whole broadcast. Nobody cares Barrett.

He built up a tolerance to deer antler spray and the PEDs in the NFL thus were ineffective.

Personally, I think he is great. Much better than our own Booger mcFarland, but who isn’t?
