It sort of backfired, but you guys at least got to witness some Vols arguing amongst each other.

Is Barnes a tard? You don't say that. You say some bs about how much you love where you coach now

I have nothing against Tenn fans, but it's funny to attack Arky fans because your coach says something incredibly stupid. I have no idea why someone with half a brain would say something like that out loud.

I always get sad when I think about how far Vols football has fallen, then I remember how irrelevant Arkansas basketball truly is and for some time and it makes me feel better.

Because Barnes doesn’t want to be here. He should’ve just left. He will jump ship next year if a slightly better program comes open.

Other programs lack of success makes you happy? What a sad life you live.

I honestly dont know why anyone in this thread is talking, If our fans were dumb enough to think were as desirable of a basketball coaching gig as UCLA then you were sadly mistaken from the beginning. One thing this does actually kindve give me some confidence about is that our administration might be willing to spend enough money to maintain some success. Is anyone under the impression except for maybe Kentucky fans that their coach wouldnt leave their school for UCLA? Especially if they were offered more money lol?

I don't think anyone disagrees. But it's pretty crazy how candid he was about it...

He said it all came down to prayer$. He was back and forth in his mind, and when they couldn’t work out the buyout, he felt like his prayer$ were answered.

Did you know every team in the SEC has been to the sweet sixteen since you guys last went to one? I mean, I know you guys had success a really really long time ago but eventually you guys have to do something. Your program has been the worst in the SEC for a quarter century.

What a strange thing to say. Way to show commitment to where you are, Rick.

It's not that strange in context. He's said it before (directly after all of it happened). Basically, he outlined his thought process and prior to our counter offer he really was thinking of going. UCLA didn't want to pay the buyout and while they were trying to negotiate that Fulmer countered.

Who cares if the admin gave him a raise? We didn’t even need to. UCLA/Barnes had moved on due to the buyout conflict so it was pointless. He didn’t stay because we gave him an absurd amount of money.

So basically Arkansas could shut it's bball program down for 40 yrs and the volenqueers still couldn't catch us in NCAA appearances, sweet sixteens, elite eights, final fours, NC's
