Yes we did. Then usc lost later in the year. Bama climbed in the rankings and played and beat #1 Penn State. Still a legit title.

If he can find me a single school that does not recognize an AP or UPI/Coaches title I will agree with him. Oklahoma and Tennessee both have national titles they claim when they lost their bowl games
