Yea, I just think it would have been better if he'd done it somewhere else.
However, he paid a price, met all the benchmarks and seemingly earned it. Has been great ever since.

Most people would say lock em up.
I don't think anyone is saying that they don't deserve it. We are just hoping for the best.

Yeah.. no shite. They'll go from "will I play football for Alabama next season?" to "will I be in jail next season?"
I don't know where this shite is coming from, I'm seeing three charges:
1. Possession of a controlled substance
2. Illegal carrying of a firearm
3. Possession of a stolen firearm

The illegal possession of a firearm with a controlled substance present can be upgraded to another felony.

Not sure on Hootie, but Robinson is 20. He's potentially eligible for youthful offender status, depending on the laws in La.
What they did was bad enough, no need to try to make it seem worse by calling them 22. Cam was a teenager a few months ago. Big difference in that and a 22 year old.

What about the guys who beat the shite out of people at bars?
"Men" who put their hands on women and throw the first punch deserve to get the frick beat out of them, whether it's by football players or not.

Ok, sounds good. LSU is a bastion of white knights and good hearted weed smokers. Other than that, offenders are kicked to the curb. Got it.

Affirmative defense means the defense has to prove Robinson didn't know the gun was stolen, if he's charged with the felony.
It means if you use "I didn't know" as a defense, you better have actual evidence to prove it. I.E. a paper trail or something of the like.
Bama fans are not getting this...

Is it? If anything, I've always seen charges dropped that were initially put fourth, not the other way around. If it looked like weed, then it is likely that the drugs+gun charge would've been added, and then if they test it and its not weed, then those charges would be dropped.
Additional charges are added all the time. I'm not sure why you're acting like it's some rare occurrence.

I mean, he is correct. LA law is different from the rest of the country.

I really can't see much happening other than Cam has to run a few more laps at practice. Wouldn't surprise me if they file a lawsuit for defamation of character and the police officers are forced to resign.

I am not acting like it is some rare occurrence, where in this thread did I say that?
I just said that I've always seen the opposite unless new developments happen.
I am simply trying to get a reasonable answer as to what developments would cause these additional charges to be added?

Check my posts. I said only a page or so ago I think they should be done at Alabama. As far as I'm concerned, my expectation is that they have both played their last came in Crimson.
I'm simply talking about their current legal situation.

It is a felony. Where is it stated it's not?
quote:
RS 14:95 — Illegal carrying of weapons
§95. Illegal carrying of weapons
E. If the offender uses, possesses, or has under his immediate control any firearm, or other instrumentality customarily used or intended for probable use as a dangerous weapon, while committing or attempting to commit a crime of violence or while in the possession of or during the sale or distribution of a controlled dangerous substance, the offender shall be fined not more than ten thousand dollars and imprisoned at hard labor for not less than five nor more than ten years without the benefit of probation, parole, or suspension of sentence. Upon a second or subsequent conviction, the offender shall be imprisoned at hard labor for not less than twenty years nor more than thirty years without the benefit of probation, parole, or suspension of sentence.
That term "imprisoned at hard labor" alone means it's a felony in Louisiana.

There are some that think the DA has to prove he knew it was stolen, but I think most get that the burden of proof is on the defendant.

In his defense, it is far more common in Alabama to make the higher charge initially and then reduce it as circumstances warrant.
Nothing wrong with either approach, just a different way of reaching the same end.

Which is common in cases such as these. The DA will wait to view the totality of the evidence from the lab and interrogations before adding charges.
They better hope that doesn't happen.

Like I said, additional charges are added all the time.

I think a year suspicion if not dismissal, which in CRobs position would mean he would never play at Bama again.
