Hope Kelly and LSU staff is aware of the connections to Oxford the TE has, hope LSU doesnt waste too much time recruiting him and offering NIL. Need to spend that time on people who may want to come to LSU.
Landry trying to put the final nail in the coffin for Louisiana. It seems he truly hates the state of Louisiana.

re: How about working Chester at OT?

Kelly loves Chester. Beating his chest over how much Chester has improved in strength and conditioning and we have top rate strength staff in the world yet we get dominated and blown off the ball.
There is no sense in urgency by Kelly. He likes hiring substandard people who are BBQ buddies.

Polian was a laughing stock at ND, Kelly brought him on was a disaster here.

Kelly hates spending money in the transfer portal.

Strength and conditioning coach needs to fired ASAP.

Dedicated Special teams coach

Sloan has no business being offensive coordinator.

Kelly is collecting 10M per year. He was given so much leeway at ND and he doesnt have the urgency.

Can you imagine completely wasting a talent like Jayden Daniels because of loyalty to BBQ buddies?
Kelly is in way over his head on what it takes to be a champion in the SEC.

With Jayden last year he had golden opportunity to go into portal to get dominate defensive players.

Lost proven OC so promotes BBQ buddy. There is no desire to win unless it completely collapses like the defense did and he was forced to make changes.

This year offense is collapsing too.

We may have had a better year if Kelly went out and got a proven and highly qualified OC.

Defense is better overall. But still majorly lacking in areas.
I think Kelly waiting so long to fire House and rest of staff left the players feeling helpless. Everybody wanted him gone. I thought firing House immediately after A&M game would have sent a strong message to fans and players that he wanted to make a change and right the program. Wingo probably would have stayed instead of entering the draft.

Connor is good runner. But if he gets a ton of pressure he will crack and make mistakes

Sloan does nothing to loosen up the defense. Need some jet sweeps and a few more wrinkles. Run game is too predictable
why is he practicing and always game time decision. Should have been put in walking boot for a couple weeks

re: Durham is the linchpin

Hopefully strength and conditioning cant do too much damage this year to Durham. I'm afraid this offseason they'll bulk him up.
I dont think he understands the magnitude of waiting to fire coaches for recruiting impacts. Doesnt understand you need to pay players for NIL.

There needs to be a sense of urgency to win and I just havent seen it last season and so far this season.
He refused to pay players in transfer portal. Not firing house immediately after A&M game sent the wrong message to recruits, showed he wasnt serious about winning

Hope they dont bulk him up too much and looses his speed and cutback ability and elusiveness
Im missing Canada after last nights performance
He has so much job security hes not worried. Hired BBQ buddy for special teams and was a disaster. Brought in House was the worst hire of all time. So did some homerun hires on defense. Could have brought in an elite OC but went bargain basement route.

There is no fire or sense of urgency to win now.

re: Is Nuss afraid to run the ball?

There is a tremendous dropoff from Nuss to backup QB. This is certainly playing a factor in designed QB runs and scrambles
quote:

D line had a lot to do with that. If the pressure is there makes it much harder to pick apart a defense. They aren’t world beaters but stout d line changes last years defense tremendously.

The scheme did them no favors either.

Proves the point it was mainly scheme. We had 3 DL drafted by the NFL and they looked pedestrian to horrible.

CBs were not elite but scheme was main cause of problems. House simply despised getting pressure on the QB. There was a reason defensive players and linemen were celebrating when House was fired. He made them all look bad. But the NFL can identify talent.
Need to clean house in that department and start over. Little to no marketing and most LSU fans doesnt even know it exists.
Cornerbacks were not SEC caliber but the main defensive issue we had was scheme. A better scheme and defensive coach with same players and we are a mid 50's ranked defense.
it was mainly scheme with Matt House, we had some talent
