Folks on here have said Monroe is very dangerous and the park they were hanging in had potential for a drug deal to go down at late night.
It's dangerous because there are stoned gumps running around with firearms. Stop defending what you know is wrong. Maybe next time they'll get high and t-bone someone in your family. See if you defend them then. The sad part is you might.

He should actually have two felony charges. Possession of a stolen handgun would be the first felony. Possession of a handgun (stolen or not) in conjunction with possession of a schudele 1 drug is also a felony. He is lucky they are only considering it one felony.

Someone mentioned earlier in the thread that the park was near a school. I would like to know how close to the school. In the state of Alabama getting caught with drugs within a certain distance of a school regardless of what time of day it is adds on a whole other set of felony charges.

Pretty sure there's a school directly across the street from part of the park...but it's a large park. It would depend where they were parked

Neville High School is nearby but is not directly across the street. Pretty sure it is far enough away that it is not an issue.
