Seems like stolen gun should be good enough reason to kick em off

What on the twitter isn't though? I only had it for a couple of months 5 years ago because of a speech class I took in college.
The nonsensical shite posted by almost everyone honestly astounded me.

Where I'm from, if you have a stolen gun, it's because you're trying to get rid of it after you use it.

I live in Monroe and am the same age as these guys. I've met both of them at parties and have buddies that played high school ball with them. Hootie got a brand new hummer with a bama sticker on the back after committing. You still see him around town driving it. It's not a coincidence all of their players drive brand new vehicles. Of course, I think it happens at every major university.
All I know is, these guys are dumb. Forsythe park is the absolute last place u want to go do illegal shite at in Monroe, especially at night. Cops literally drive circles around the place looking for people to arrest. I got pulled over one time for turning around in the parking lot to go back to my house.
For the people that say this is an LSU conspiracy, although it's probably in a joking manner, no. It's just Monroe,La. It's easy as hell to get arrested around here.

I live in West Monroe and I can vouch for all of this. 100% true. Like I said before, Forsythe Park is the last place you want to be smoking weed in the middle of the night. The police might not patrol the entire city like they should but the one place they do patrol is the Garden District and especially the park because of all of the homosexual activity that occurs there after dark.
It looks like Cam and Hootie were there just to smoke weed and play with guns. It's not clear yet if they were there for any sort of homosexual activities.

That's a pretty strong cite.
Any idea why they haven't been (or at least not reported to have been) charged under that code section?
Every single report says Jones was charged with two misdemeanors and Robinson's only felony charge it the stolen gun.
If that's the law and they're charged accordingly, they're both fricked.
I could be wrong but they may be waiting on official lab tests for the weed before they can charge them. Remember the initial reports were for "marijuana residue" which sounds like how an unofficial field test would be reported. One of those it-turned-blue tube things; enough for probably cause but has to be confirmed with more accuracy before it can actually be used in court.
Full disclosure, I've heard it's also possible the judge has the option at the booking hearing to drop this kind of thing to a misdemeanor depending on circumstances (bag of weed versus 30 lbs, etc.) but I have no idea if that's true or not.

quote:seriously though, unless the judge and prosecutor are rabid lsu fans, it should be relatively easy to get out of that part. The language of the law says you had to know or should have known it was stolen. The kind of lawyer he's going to get should be able to weasle around that. It was a friend gun i was borrowin, etc...
I hate Bama, but I would never root for a Louisiana kid to have theses charges against them. A stolen gun is serious in this state!

I'm sure there's a reasonable explanation. They probably found the gun and were about to return it to the authorities but first they had to dispose of the marijuana they had graciously taken off their friend who they were helping get clean.

Yeah, but Saban makes exceptions for star players.

How do you "play with a gun?"
Posted on 5/17/16 at 12:16 pm to Jester
I may be wrong, but isn't possession of a stolen firearm a felony? Maybe some of you cops can chime in here. Sad to see these two ruin their lives and careers. Prayers for the families.

Well apparently that park is a hotbed of homo activity. Maybe they were playfully inserting them into each others anuses.
