The following link is to an article discussing why Auburn is short scholarship players. Apparently, both LSU and Auburn have higher attrition rates than Bama during the Saban era.

So if you were recruited by Saban you are good - if you were recruited by Shula you are f'd.

So which is better?

A) Oversigning. Then taking away players' scholarships during the summer.

B) Signing what you need and using any additional schollies from attrition on the next class.

*From your OP, I'm sure you don't mind oversigning, then forcing guys out like Bama is currently doing.

The article doesn't account for Shula's players that were booted. See how truth works.

C. going duck hunting in Arkansas istead of recruiting which is what you are being paid to fricking do and leaving your team with low scholly numbers.

No with me but you can classify attrition using different criteria and I'm guessing they don't literally mean "All that left".

Or maybe I got confused and read it to mean arrests.

Yes it does, the Alabama total includes all the Shula players who are no longer on the team.

A lot of Shula players have done well. Some have not. But that's the way it is for every coach.

Then as Saban oversigns and revokes schollies from guys that have been on campus longer than he has, he accepts transfers from LSU.

Go figure. Class and integrity in HD.

That would be NONE but...

How many of Sabans players were given an unconditional release by Miles when the player wanted to transfer for personal reasons.....How many of Sabans players were not allowed to go to another SEC school when he forced them to leave the bama team.
You guys bitch when everyone around here calls Saban out for his new scolly program but bama fans are the ones bringing it up while trying to spin that shite any way you can.

Let's look at the facts for the recruiting classes from 2006 - 2008:

LSU signed 78 players and 26 of those are no longer on LSU's roster for an attrition rate of 33.3%.

Alabama signed 80 players during the same time period. 23 of those players are no longer on the team for an attrition rate of 28.75%.

LSU has lost 26 signees. Are you honestly saying that none of them left for lack of playing time of because they just couldn't cut it?

That's what happens in college football, always has. Upper classmen quit when they lose their starting positions, are taken off the traveling squad, etc. Younger guys leave when they see the writing on the wall.

If that's not happening at LSU, then don't expect to ever win another championship. If players who do not give 100% to your program, are late for team meetings, don't go to class, test positive for drugs, and all manner of other things, don't suffer any consequences and stay on scholarship then LSU football is headed right back where it was.

So can you go out and buy those lowest attrition rate championship T-shirts now, or do you have to pre-order them?
