Against FBS competition? The 2009 numbers look off too, but in the other direction.

I am not letting the loss of five starters on D to the NFL's drafts first round bridle my enthusiasm

The 2011 Bama defense was awesome, but the quality of the offenses they played was rather pathetic

I want to see the numbers for the 2005 D. I bet they measure up pretty well with the other three defenses.

he found them in the same book that says Bama has 14 NCs
NCAA record books says 18.

Oh, cool. So we just don't count games that we didn't like the outcome of?
Or does that game not count in the NCAAs record book?
Can you tell me where in his post he limited to all games, excluding Georgia Southern.

NCAA.org
Pretty helpful website. You should check it out.

2008 USC played a terribly weak schedule as well. Believe it or not, 2008 Washington and Washington State were significantly worse than this year's Ole Miss team. But you look at the talent on that USC team and how they performed on the big stage and their greatness can't be denied.

And you're counting only 14 points for GA southern, and 0 for Auburn, right?
We're talking numbers given up by our DEFENSE. Not special teams. Not offense. DEFENSE.

The 92 squad was more ill natured and gangster

You seem mad.
And the NCAA claims that you gave up 106 total points under SCORING DEFENSE. Guess which game that includes?
I guess that explains why his YPC, 1st downs/game, takeaways, < 10 pts allowed, etc, are all wrong too?
frick off, retard.

I think to really compare you might need to also look at the offense. I think our offense this year was a lot better than the offense of 92'.
There is some real truth to this. It seemed like that '92 defense had to score a touchdown a game on its own or Bama would not have gone undefeated that year.

It does kinda irritate me that butthurt Auburn fans come into a thread that literally has absolutely nothing to do with them and start talking shite about statistics.
Secondly, that graphic doesn't say ANYTHING about NCAA rankings, or other NCAA statistical categories. It simply lists numbers that each DEFENSE gave up. Guess what that DOESN'T include? Special teams scores and scores while our offense is on the field - which accounts for all 14 of Auburn's points, and 7 of GA Southern. I believe we also gave up one or two other special teams TDs against other teams as well.
Show me where the original graphic says anything about "Scoring defense" or how it relates to NCAA.org's list of statistics, and I'll admit to being mentally retarded.
Otherwise, show yourself the door.
42-14.

Wait a sec. Alabama would have lost the 2010 title game by 4 touchdowns if Colt didn't get hurt <retarded sip>.

You're missing my point. If FCS teams are not included in these stats, it obviously makes the incredible 2011 defense look even better. However, it makes the numbers go up for the 2009 defense. A shutout of UTC and holding them to under 100 yards of offense wouldn't be included.

folks tryin to degrade the best defense that's taken the field since the late 80's is lulz. Most probably weren't even born to see anything better.

Yes, the LSU offense was one of many shitty offenses the Tide got the benefit of playing.
Here are some total offensive ranking numbers that should put things into perspective:
LSU - 75
Penn St - 94
Ole Miss - 114
UTk - 103
Vandy - 97
Florida - 102
Auburn - 104
Miss St - 84
That is out of 120 FBS teams. That is beyond pathetic. I can't give them the nod as best Bama D ever looking at that
