The only way uga stops bama's offense is by keeping the ball the whole game. And they might.

You dont see any way that UGA can make Bama one dimensional?

Tennessee is the highest ranked offense they've faced thus far and they're currently ranked 45th nationally in scoring. AU is 62nd, Arky is 68th.

Take out the UGA game and Tennessee is the 5th best scoring offense in conference (29th in the country).

Take out the UGA game and Tennessee is the 3rd best rushing offense (27th in the country). Ahead of Bama.

All of this talk sounds a lot like the leadup to the last SECCG.

I do, too, but Alabama's Offense is better than good. It'll be an interesting game.....I hope.

If UGA does make Bama one dimensional, does that affect the passing game?

I assume you think "making a team one-dimensional" means taking away the running game? That's not necessarily true, but since I'm sure that's the chute you're clumsily herding me toward, let's go with it.

It would depend on how many bodies you have to commit to doing it. You're not going to shut down the run game playing straight up. So, if you make Bama pass, you're going to get torched. You'd be better off playing the safeties back and hoping Bama's run game is as bad as people think. But, it's not.

I've already said it. If Jordan Davis is healthy, we are not committing numbers to stopping the run game. The only numbers we bring into the box are based upon your personnel and alignment (12 personnel that Bama runs a lot)

You are telling me that Mac can do what Burrow did to us?
We shut down the LSU run game in our nickel and dime looks. The only run game that LSU had for 3 quarters was Joe Burrow. And we were not committing bodies to do it. We were even in 7 DB personnel and LSU was not getting holes for their RBs.

I can say it a third time. We don't need the safeties up to shut down the run game. Maybe you've never watched a Kirby Smart defense (ironic). The safeties can crash like lightning. They dont need to cheat to read their keys, play their roles, and do their job.

Fun match up. arguably the best offense vs. the best defense in the nation.

The other units for each are struggling a bit but the UGA offense has a slight edge on the defense. Talents like Surtain vs Pickens. UGA has a few more playmakers vs. that defense. I'd expect a coming out party for either Bama D or UGA O, it seems to set up like that from my standpoint.

The UGA offense is the worst enemy for the UGA defense. Arkansas got a field goal after a turnover. Tennessee got 7 on a bad snap and 7 more on a horrible turnover on downs inside our 40. Hell... it was an offensive player's personal foul penalty that assisted Tennessee in their final TD drive.

UGAs defense will give up plays. But rarely does a 1 dimensional team do enough to win unless the UGA offense gives the game away.

UGA world class defense didn’t stand a chance vs LSU last year, and they were practically the #1 overall in everything. Overrated as usual. Bama will win this game by 17+ Book it.

He just might, he's on fire this year. Doubt anyone would have said Burrow would be able to do what he did at the beginning of last season either

Burrow needed his legs to have success against UGA. As I said, he was the sole running game for 3 quarters for LSU and his highlight reel from the game is remarkable (and not just for his progressions, touch, and understanding of the offense)

I feel like we have a pretty balanced offense? Najee is a great back and we can run successfully. The passing game has looked solid.

Devonta Smith and Waddle have shown they can ball against anyone.

The mismatch of this game isn't Bama's O vs Georgia D where I would say they are likely a wash.

Georgia's offense is much better than Alabama's defense.

Najee is a great back. He's patient, strong, and athletic. But if there isnt room, there isnt room.

Agreed. But Campbell and Stokes are Sunday ballers. I expect offense and defense to make plays.

The question is if Bama fans are expecting a one dimensional pass offense to be enough.

Bama fans have seen this defense for over a decade. What happens to the pass rush if the opponent is in 2nd and long and 3rd and long. Burrow was able to bail the offense out with his legs. Are you expecting a mistake free game from Mac with pressure?

I have my doubts. Snapping the ball into the endzone at home isnt promising. Not understanding blocking assignments and how to run counter is not promising. Having a true freshman run an NFL offense with quality DBs from the Y receiver spot is not promising (Burton will be a stud. He just has to learn a ton)

I know what you think. But, I'm not going to go through every little detail of why this or that will happen. What I will tell you is trying to defend offenses like Bama runs is exactly the reason Bama doesn't run the defense that Saban taught kirby anymore.

But, so far this year, Bama's defense has been putrid. Like I said, your best bet is to try to run the ball and keep it away from the Bama offense. Underestimating Mac Jones isn't the way to win.

You are actually right...running game has disappeared, they don’t run block well anymore. They got yards late last week late in the game with an inferior opponent.

I for one don’t think our o-line is near as good as media would have you believe and it’s not just this year.
Around 8-10 yrs ago Saban was the master of adjustment, but I haven’t seen that in at least 3 years. I’m glad he gets to watch his team somewhat like I do this weekend. I would love to be wrong about the UGA game, but think it’s going to be a long one. To me it looks like the same shite he put on the field the last 3 years, offensive looks good until they play a defense. I guess 6 nattys is enough...

He is money with a clean pocket. And he hits the underneath stuff with pressure coming at him.

Show me his highlights where he has to move his feet. Show me his downfield balls where he is throwing off his spot. He underthrows them. Great receivers can make up for his issues. But we have great DBs (corners and safety. Nickel and dime are damn good but they arent at Stokes/Campbell/Lecounte level).

As I said, both the offense and defense will be making plays against each other. We are going to be exchanging blows with the WR/DB matchup. I still ask if Bama thinks they can pass to win.
