Whats funny is the original article was posted on an Auburn fan site.
I guess an Alabama fan could go dig through their history and discredit some of their titles, like how they won the 1957 title while banned from bowls. But really, who would waste their time doing that? AU doesn't have a pot to piss in when it comes to football history, and that's why they spend all their time discussing Bama's

Alabama has 8 universally recognized NCs, and I'm ok with that

Honestly I'm more proud of the 9 untied, undefeated, bowl champion teams. Historians can claim what they want, but no team can match Alabama when it comes to perfect seasons
1925- UNDEFEATED ROSE BOWL CHAMPS
1930- UNDEFEATED ROSE BOWL CHAMPS
1934- UNDEFEATED ROSE BOWL CHAMPS
1945- UNDEFEATED ROSE BOWL CHAMPS
1961- UNDEFEATED SUGAR BOWL CHAMPS
1966- UNDEFEATED SUGAR BOWL CHAMPS
1979- UNDEFEATED SUGAR BOWL CHAMPS
1992- UNDEFEATED SUGAR BOWL CHAMPS
2009- UNDEFEATED BCS CHAMPS @ the ROSE BOWL
We'll see if LSU can complete a 2nd untied, undefeated, bowl champion season this year. I hope Bama puts a stop to them though

Bama has 12, their big rig trailer even lists them..yet omits that half were awarded via the Downtown Bugtussle Kiwanis Club retroactively.

The NCAA recognizes 11. Argue with them why they recognize them. That is what Bama should claim, not 13.

According to friends in Mobile, Bama has 114 national titles since the Protestant Reformation.

The retroactive ones are obviously suspect.
64, 65, 73, 78 are very questionable for contradicting reasons (i.e., claimed because AP picked them on some years, but AP picked other NC in other claimed years)
30, 34 and especially 41 and 64 are obvious bullshite.
Good post.

I don't know what you are talking about. WHat I am saying, is the the year that AU, Okie and USC went undefeated in regular season...2004, I think.
Auburn wins against VT in Sugar Bowl and goes undefeated, but doesn't claim MNC. I have a strong feeling that Alabama would have, yet with no hardware.....very similar to this thread.
Now that the Gumps have been exposed, they are now claiming that their 9 undefeated seasons are more important.
This is so funny. What's next?

Surely you don't want to lower your program by plagiarizing an old story from Awburn people? I have more respect for LSU than that. You need to do some more research and learn about the history of the Rose Bowl. It's called the "Granddaddy of them all" for a reason. Alabama won it on several occasions back in the 20's and 30's against "Superior" Western teams. This put 'Southern' football on the map of respect. All National Titles are "Mythical" btw. I agree with this Gump. Hopefully, Lsu can finish for it's 2nd.

You only "agree with this Gump." Because you and he both don't know how to count undefeated seasons for LSU. We have 7, going for 8, so by the gump logic you like so much, we've got 7 seasons "to be proud of."

Well, except for Michigan and Notre Dame who both have had 9 unbeaten/untied seasons themselves.
That took me 2 minutes to look up.

Bama has a media guide that has more index/ranking systems than Miami had thugs. Just so you can look up their 13 national titles in 2 minutes, also.
