Like most Gumps, I believe that the SEC West race is between Bama and LSU. Both teams are blessed with unmatched talent and depth, except at the QB position. This weakness scares the crap out of me, as Bama will likely be favored in every game it plays this year (early line has Tide favored in every game not played in Tiger Stadium).

That would change drastically should Ely become our starting QB. Ely is a redshirt freshman who has never seen the field.

LSU is no better off if something should happen to Mettsiah. LSU has no backup QB who has ever seen the light of day. While both teams are in the top 5 with their starting QBs, this season could quickly turn into a Capital One Bowl bid if they are injured, suspended, or otherwise lost.

That thought should be scary as hell for both teams. I hope both teams make it through their seasons intact. An injury at any other position would only cause a minimal effect. The loss of McCannon or Mettsiah would likely cripple either club.

For a program that has spent every season since 2007 quarterbackless, I think LSU will manage.

Did Brian Burgdorf ever get that securities fraud thing worked out? Suit him up if so.

We could literally give Lacy and Yeldon the ball 20 times each a game with Fowler and Hart pitching in and still win most of our games.

Somebody might could talk Freddie Kitchens away from the Cardinals and bring him back.

Looks like he still in as good as shape as he was back in the day

Phillip Ely might be a game (assistant) manager, if forced in to action as a redshirt freshman.

Freddie looks like he has lost some weight and some hair.

I'd rather we play Blake Sims if anything happens to McCannon. He has at least been on the field before. Though it was at RB.

We just won the SEC title with the worst qb of all time. We should be fine regardless.

I think the fact that both teams have such outstanding offensive lines means the chances for such an injury are as minimal as they could be.

maybe for you. LSU will not be worse off than JJ even if a RSF has to play.

well mettenberger is a bigger stronger qb so he has less chance of getting injured. mccarron will probably get hit by mingo or montgomery and break his ankle.
