Dobbs just scored again on Pruitt's D. 300 yards passing and 100 yards rushing for Mr. Dobbs vs. inbreds D.

Gave up 32 and 38 points to Tennessee while at UGA. He's great.

Yeah, maybe we should've went after the App State defensive coordinator...

He's played and coached at Alabama. If he was to get a major head coaching job and have success, he would be a prime candidate at UA one day.

UF fans love him as a DC of other schools.

Dabo and Pruitt both played for Stallings at Alabama.

Dabo getting the job would really depend on how much longer Saban will coach. He's not going to wait forever. He obviously gets more entrenched at Clemson as the years pass. But he certainly is the hands down favorite right now.

Really surprised USCe didn't choose him over Muschamp. I am not, not at all Pruitt is a loose cannon

I'm not sure being a loose cannon disqualified anybody from USC hiring them. They got Champ didn't they?

Maybe it's just my hope, but I still think we'd give Jim McElwain a serious look. Doubt he'd leave UF though.

He can be a good assistant, but I wouldn't want him as the face of my program.

He's a dickhead who's a great coach. I'm not sure he'll be a good head coach because of his personality. He'll stab the wrong person in the back at some point.

Like Kiffin, I think Pruitt's niche is as a coordinator. But like Kiffin, I'm sure he'll give the HC thing a try at some point and I can't blame him for that. Ultimately, I see him back as a DC for his career which I think will happen for Muschamp as well.

There's no shame in not being a HC. Making 7 figures as a coordinator is a pretty sweet gig, but all these guys have egos the size of Texas and have to fail 2-3 times to realize they aren't the next Saban.

One reason is he recruits complete thugs of questionable character wherever he goes. The famous Alabama foursome who assaulted those students etc., were ALL recruited by Pruitt. Same thing at FSU. And then he had problems at Ga.
Who did he recruit to FSU that was a thug? I only remember him bringing in Demarcus Walker and I think Jalen Ramsey.

CJP is a different kind of loose cannon

CWM is a hothead, sure, but he is not a guy that you have to worry about trying to undermine you as his boss

Pruitt actually caused dissension in the UGA locker room

that whole fiasco is the type of thing that will weigh heavily on a college president or AD as the make a hiring decision

If you ask me, I think he's one of the best DC's in the country and he's a great recruiter/evaluator. That being said, he needs to be handled by a strict HC who commands respect, such as Saban. Richt couldn't control him and he rubbed a lot of people the wrong way. I do not know how he would do as a HC, but I would not risk hiring if I was a P5 school until he had cut his teeth elsewhere.

This is a pretty stupid statement to make in support of your case. Of course he was on the cusp of being fired at UGA when Saban hired him. You may have missed it, but Mark Richt got fired, and when that happens the assistants get released too.

Saban hired him immediately because had he waited, Pruitt would have been working somewhere else in rapid fashion.

I see Pruitt as a POTENTIAL hybrid Smart/Muschamp. He would definitely need to mature first and not be so outspoken and abrasive. He has potential if he learns self control.
There's a place in college football for screaming but that means that there is also a place for restraint.

Much more similar to Muschamp than to Kirby.

Eta: and def one of best DCs in CFB
