chance to rebuild the most storied program (he gets off on the challenge where numerous others have failed recently)
- seriously doubt he considers Alabama rebuilt, if we win a MNC this year I will concede the point and in that case wish him fairwell and thank him for returning us to our RIGHTFUL place.
more money.
- nope, bama boosters could match any logical amount of money offered. and considering he left Miami for less per year than Bama on could argue it is not about the money to him. as much as LSU fans hate to hear that
likely grew up watching and pulling for ND as a Catholic kid.
NATIONAL recruiting base.
he would be the East coast (ok, midwest) version of pete carrol.
as apposed to the southern version of him?
more money.
he's not in alabama (fine for you, maybe even fine for me, but not fine for a guy from up north. they still think the south is full of dumb rednecks --- many are).
- I thought he loved LSU and baton rogue, how could that be for someone who hates the South. psst.. ask any northerner living in the south and they will tell you they love the south and would never move back. at least the ones I know in redneckville alabama
proximity to a large metropolis - chicago - for the wife's shopping habits. especially now that she has more money.
- fairly certain his wife could hop on the private jet and take a day trip to shop anywhere she wants
his boss is the Pope, not hal moore or some mere mortal.
you do realize the Pope is not the athletic director, right?
every game is on Nat. TV.
- it's a shame the SEC doesn't have a new contract that guarantees almost all your games are televised on Nation TV
will not have to play an SECCG game to get into the NC. even a mediocre season will have ND in NC give media bias.
- what about all this Bama bias we hear about from aubies and the LSU fans. why worry when there is a huge conspiracy coming from the top ranks of the SEC offices. and saban doesn't seem like the type of guy to shy away from a challenge. you know like rebuilding programs and all.
that's just off the top of my head. need more?

I think Oklahoma fans should be more worried than bammer fans.

I have kept up with Saban since MSU and know him actually know him thru JR.
He lives for the challenge. Any school will do.
I promise you that!

Saban in an ego maniac whore. He absolutely will sell Bama out given the right circumstances.

Yea...you've kept up with him thru internet boards, TV, newspapers, and other media outlets just like the rest of us. Hell I've been in the mans house...That doesn't mean he wants to leave or stay at Bama.

Not much obviously. You're not as well connected as Rod and I. Saban takes a 75% pay cut to be a DC under Weis starting Jan 1.
Book it.

I seriously doubt he leaves. Hope he does, for obvious reasons but doubt he does.

I can respect "goat" for being man enough to admit how he really feels. These other people are making assumptions based on their emotions and what they want instead of listening to the voice of reason. Sad!

I agree I doubt he leaves yet because it would make him look bad.
But I do believe ND will bring the kitchen sink to get him.
This is an every year thing with Saban and its not a slam at all. So you Bama boys dont need to get your panties in a wad.
We just know this song already. Its called Life with Coach Saban. Its has pros and cons.
Think of it this way, if he sucked no one would want him! As long as he is winning, there will be offers on the table every year.

I really do not care but here is why Saban would leave. Bigger program, national exposure every single week, just as big if not bigger school for landing recruits and yeah he could make more money there too.
That is just being honest, I really do not care if he stays at Alabama or not, but if he were to sit down and write out the pros and cons, that would be the pros at Notre Dame.

Plus booster and alum that wont try to "tinker" with the program.

Maybe this is Little Nicky's higher calling to be the man to resurrect the Notre Dame football program. Touchdown Jesus says Notre Dame can have Nick Saban and make him the highest paid Lyprecon in their history and lead them back to glory.
Don't be surprised if it happens because Jimmy Sexton, Saban's agent has already be contacted by ND. If I were Alabama you better be ready to make a big counter offer to keep little Nicky.

McElroy's attempt at a Tebow halftime speech.

“Defense pound them! Offense pound them!” McElroy yelled to his teammates. “We’ve got 30 more minutes, and then we hang up the pads for four months. Make the most of every (expletive) second. And let’s go eat some steak!”

You are really out of touch if you dont think ND can and will pay more money than ANY school can offer. Do some research kid.
They can pay him $10 mil easy. They own their own nationwide TV contract with NBC
In case you missed it, the new contract for SEC broadcasts now ensures that VANDY gets more annually than Notre Dame does. Couple that amount with Bama's cash coffers and we can pony up quite a bit of moolah ourselves for whatever we need.
EDIT: Notre Dames TV contract reportedly pays them 9 million a year. In 2007-2008, BEFORE the new Billion dollar SEC contract, each school received 10.7 million dollars from the conference...that number is going to go up dramatically for the life of that deal.
