I will agree with Ray Ray that it would fuel Saban's ego to be able to be the one to turn ND around.

With that being said I don't think he would leave for ND. The academic standards alone handcuff the Football team at ND.

Let's face reality, how many of our beloved SEC studs make the grades for ND

You are really out of touch if you dont think ND can and will pay more money than ANY school can offer. Do some research kid.

They can pay him $10 mil easy. They own their own nationwide TV contract with NBC. There are WAY more ND fans and alum than any school has, with LOTS more money.

You're stupid if you think they are going to pay 10 Million a year.

Saban knows he can't recruit the kind of players to Notre Dame that he would need to succeed there. Not unless ND relaxes their admissions' standards and they have already said that ain't happening.

this academic argument is just the fuel for a new challenge he'd love to take on.

and if you think that he cant field a NC team even with the academic rigors when the WHOLE nation is his to chose from, you are nuts.

Where I'm from we call that haterism.

Hater - noun

1. One who wishes to be like the another and fills itself with false dreams and hopes that are unattainable.

2. A person who deliberately trys to pull an elite and successful person or organization down because they realize they will never reach the level of greatness as the aforementioned. Usually done as a last ditch desperation move right before death or public irrelevancy.

I don't think many people are understanding what we are saying. We know Bama doesn't have more money than ND. We are saying that Bama could match what ND would pay because ND is not going to throw 12 mil a year at Saban. While I realize they could, it ain't gonna happen.

Not many people thought Bama would go to Miami and make Saban the highest paid college coach before he even won a single game.

Like I said before, ND is in dire straights. If the checkbook comes out, I'd be worried if I were a Bama fan.

I'm not sayong they couldn't I'm just saying they won't pay the kind of money it would take for Bama to bow out of the bidding.

I could see reasopns for him leaving and reasons for him not to leave:

For - ND is still ND, it would be one hell of a challenge to rebuild Rome, and let's be honest, all of these high paid coaches have egos the size of Texas, even our dumbass. THis could still be the pinnacle of college football. It is not right now, but with the right coach, ND could possibly be back on top. You have your own national network, no conf to deal with, a very nice BCS tie in and a national recruting scene.

Against - I dont think he could go through the national beatdown again. I think that affected him much more than people think. I believe the guy wanted to try the NFL, I believe the guy hated the NFL, I beleive the guy would have liked to come back to LSU, and I believe the guy thought the Bama job was the best opportunity for him to get where he was with LSU. ALso to add, right now, the best ball in the nation is in the SEC, hands down. You can get plenty of ego fill fighingt Auburn in the iron bowl, Tenn, LSU (hopefully for the west if we are still relevent) and FLorida. Why leave when you are competing on the highest level in the college ranks already?

Not worried, don't think he's going. If he does though by some freak thing. Bama is bigger than Saban. He's done a great job of getting us back and it's a premiere job again. We'll be fine getting another great coach and we've learned our lesson on going out and getting one.

He can make his own schedule every year and doesnt have to play anyone to be in the national championship picture.

I understand what you are saying, but I don't see ND being that desperate in putting that kind of money on the table because there are great coaches out there just like Saban. We are just saying that Bama can match most offers unless it is absolutely ridiculous.

More money and a challenge. THATS what Saban coaches for. You guys still havnt learned who Saban is yet.

He could care less who he coaches for. Its about him being able to take any program and turn them into winners. He doesnt care which team it is.

What makes you people believe Saban just loves to turn struggling programs around? He left MSU for LSU because it was an obvious step up. He left LSU to Miami Dolphins because he wanted to try the pros out. He left The Dolphins because he realized he didn't like the pros and that he missed dealing with college kids and teaching. Now he's at Bama. Sure he's turned everyone else around cause he's a good coach but not because he wanted to go be some Savior of programs in disarray. One person can say some dumb schit like that and everyone takes it and run with it. Oh....he likes to turn programs around. BS!!!!

I don't think he can recruit as well as he can here. He also has COMPLETE control over the football program which would NOT happen at N.D.

Incorrect. ND recruits the entire country better than any school besides maybe USC, and that has just been as of late.

He would have total control of ND and wouldnt have to deal with the biggest problem every Bama coach has had to deal with, the boosters and alum.

It's too late. My sources confirm Saban will make a halftime Iron Bowl announcement that he's going to ND before the SECCG.

I wouldnt be so quick to think they wont. They have had a long streak of frick ups at coach and will pay what they need to get the man that stop the bleeding, much like Bama did.

No the reason Bama isnt a premier job is because of the boosters and alum and that hasnt changed!

In fact, THAT will be what makes Saban leave Bama. They cant help themselves and he wont stick around. Its already starting on a small level. Let him not go undefeated one season and the "good old boys" will start "helping him". The end.
