What's the word on Andre Smith and Javier Arenas?
Andre Smith will leave for sure and javier is staying. Smith will be replaced by JUCO transfer Campbell and DJ Fluker so we will feel no loss there. If McElroy is as good as JPW, which he will be, then we will be better than we are this year.

What's the word on Andre Smith and Javier Arenas? It won't be easy replacing Wilson, Caldwell, Cody, and Rashad Johnson.[/quote]
Cody will be back. Rahad won't be easy to replace but I like our redshirts. If Andre leaves, ever hear of DJ Fluker? If not you will. Arenas is staying. It won't be easy replacing Wilson, Caldwell, Cody, and Rashad Johnson. WE will be better on the rush ends and put more pressure on QB's. Finally Greg McElroy will have a good career at QB. He will be a Junior in 2009. He has a good arm and puts the ball on the money better tham JPW. In other words, it will only get worse for our opponents. RTR!

Amazing how the back-up QB is always better!

Like that everywhere. You tell Florida fans wait till tebow leaves (Heisman winner one year, up for it the next year) and they won't miss a beat with Cam Newton.

McElroy certainly isn't better than JPW, seeing as how he didn't start, but it's going to be hard for us to see a drop off in QB production. JPW only had 9 TD passes.
The biggest thing we need Greg to do is make few mistakes, the exact same we asked of JPW. As long as he can throw for 150-200 yards a game with one or no interceptions, I'll be happy.
We'll definitely see a decrease in the ability of the O-Line, but how couldn't we? That being said, our O-Line will still be good, but again not at this year's level. I expect them to get better as the year goes on.
Our defense will be monstrous. Rashad leaves, and that will be a big loss in terms of leadership. However, I look for that responsibility to be taken up by McClain, who I guarantee will be an All-American. We also lose Greenwood, who was never great but always consistent. The only thing our defense will lack is good pass rushing.
Overall, I look for us to go anywhere from 9-3 to 12-0. We have an absurdly easy SEC and OOC schedule, so I'm definitely expecting a New Year's Bowl and at least a big shot at winning the West.

THERE IS NO REPLACING AN ANDRE SMITH WITH NO DROPOFF. Mc Elroy only threw 20 passes this year. No experience so he will struggle.

Typical fan knowledge of the game and the position. I would be willing to be that most QBs in the SEC actually "throws better balls" than JPW., What JPW did this year is not easily matched by young QBs. It is the plays that JPW did not make in 2008 that made Bama successful. Those plays cost Bama the losses in 2007.
Outside of Tebow, you will lose 3+games without junior or senior qb in the SEC.

i also believe they will see a little dropoff talent wise, but who will they lose to? Ole Miss, LSU, and Va Tech are their best chances at a loss, they will be favored in almost all of their games
