wrong. i've lived in the South, on the west coast and in NYC. Penn State is more nationally recognized and respected than Alabama. not by much, mind you, but Penn State holds more clout.

Is that why they got shafted in the 1994 AP Poll?

Nebraska was 13-0 while Penn State was 12-0. plus Nebraska played a really tough schedule and beat No. 3 Miami in the Orange Bowl. the Cornhuskers deserved the NC that year.

Penn State isn't who I'd be worried about in terms of jobs. We have more history, money, better facilities, belong to a better conference, appear on TV more often, just won a BCS title, and sit in a much better and easier recruiting ground. He runs the SEC now; I don't see why he'd move to play 2nd and 3rd fiddle to Michigan and OSU.

Don't forget they only pay JoePa like 300,000 a year. Saban isn't going to come that cheap.

the only job Saban would leave for, imho, is the Dallas Cowboys

too bad Bama can't match Penn State's fan base

huh?

Bama's Fan Base > Penn States - i see more Alabama stuff than Penn STate in my travels all over the US - granted some may be bandwagon fans, but still.

Using a what if..how do you know that Alabama wont go on major sanctions or the the death penalty? You're going to have a statue of a coach who destroyed your Football program in the long term because he had a title?

Go some place else if you're going to act like an immature idiot.

JoePa didn't want/need the money and most if not all was given back to the university. His last staff hiring was 7 years ago. They have far more money than what they pay him it is just he decided to not ask for any more money.

I'm just saying, if the boosters have gotten used to paying only 300,000 for the last 100 years, they might not be so happy about having to fork over 5 million. It would take some work.
