I'm just curious.
I'm not insinuating anything, just wondering.
Auburn, feel free to answer as well.

I don't know, but I do know for a fact that many bama players smoke weed. Their Athletic department just doesn't really care to enforce strict rules or guidelines on it like some other schools do.

Don't worry. It's all handled internally.

Let's say within the last five years.

Only a couple. I haave heard that Saban doesnt really care about pot and rather emphasizes the stupidity in getting drunk and doing stupid shite. He basically lets them know when they are going to be DT'd. I am not kidding either, heard it from a former player.

I don't think any fan of an SEC school can deny that a lot of weed is smoked by members of their school's football and basketball teams.

We've had plenty of players suspended over the last few years, but they never say why.

Yes. For one, one of my good friends was a walkon in the Shula/Saban era, and his brother (also a great friend of mine) had a house near campus. They said it was common when they had house parties for football and basketball players to attend and a bunch of them would blaze. It wasn't a big deal.
Second, that same guy has a cousin that is currently a 2nd stringer right now that has seen some PT in his career. He told me that Saban doesn't care if they smoke, just don't drink and drive. Saban is serious about not getting in trouble for alcohol, but doesn't care if they smoke.

I'd say 80% or higher of SEC players smoke weed.

how many teams announce suspensions and the exact reason for each? I don't think Saban does this, but not sure.

Violation of Team Rules is an umbrella term used to not incriminate or injure a player's name with the stigma of "drug abuser."
