Nobody is claiming they did not have talent, just not worthy of their draft positions. By being selected in the first round, you are almost guaranteed to start for most NFL Teams. DBs are not paid by how many tackles they make, as a matter of fact DBs with a lot of tackles shows a problem. First round DBs with only 2-3 Ints is troubling. Bama's first and second rounders have been successful at LBs and WR (Jones and Cooper), but other than that they have been drafted 2 rounds too early.

Lots of ignorance in this post.
Josh Norman has 7 INTs in 4 years.
Richard Sherman has averaged 3 INT over the last 2 seasons.
Yeah. Troubling.

Those are shutdown corners, I do not think you can say the same about anyone on your list. But for those who only read stat sheets, your logic works.

You're the one that made a concrete statement based on number of picks. Just pointing out the fallacy in that.

No, you are trying to justify their picks based on starts and select stats. Again, it is the chicken vs egg debate, they are getting starts because of draft positions, and their production doesn't justify it.

Doesn't really matter if NFL scouts or coaches should recognize them as busts or not. The fact is that Alabama players continue to be drafted in the 1st and 2nd round at a much higher number than other schools thus feeding an already powerful recruiting setup. Whether they're busts or deserve the money is immaterial. They're getting lucrative pro contracts and recruits see that. 44 players drafted since 2010 with 23 of those coming in the first 2 rounds vs 17 overall.

I mean it looks like Kareem Jackson is gonna play 10 years in Houston so they are paying him for something

Your post makes Dre Kirkpatrick out to be one of the best cornerbacks in the league. In reality, per PFF, he graded out almost at the very bottom of the list...of ALL cornerbacks. He was terrible.
Stats are deceiving.
Not all Alabama players are busts. Some are very good, a select few have been incredible, some are mediocre and some flat out suck.

Was shocked to see the other day where Kareem Jackson was the 2nd highest paid player for the Texans this past season at just under 14.2 million. Going to make over 7 million this coming season. Pretty good money for a bust....lol.

He is a modern day version of Jeff Rutledge. Average player that finds a good situation on average teams, that allows him to stick around the league beyond his abilities. The good DBs in the league are at a premium, which allows average talent to stick around.

Probably so but that only speaks to the fact that Kareem Jackson either got coached up and got way more respect from NFL teams/scouts than he deserved and/or he has an incredible agent.

I know Houston fans bitched about his play the first few years. I think the talent at that position is so diluted today, the standard of play has been lowered.

I think it's more that rule changes over the years have made it more difficult to play the position

Hate to put this in a flame thread, but Darren Bates has to be the most surprising NFL player in history. While good in college, I saw nothing which translated to the NFL with him. Most of his time is special teams, but to get 4 or 5 years in NFL is special, I never saw it in him.

Something like 10 different NFL teams have a former Bama player leading their team in a major statistical category. Sorry bout it.
Lol no

Carl Lawson (could possible be a 1st round pick)
Based on his years of being an injured underachiever? Or the hype Auburn gives this guy? He makes one 4th down tackle when he was unblocked and his great.
