We are having trouble locating a national championship from any of those seasons.

At least Oklahoma doesn’t own them like they do Bama.

Yeah you would want to remember that one and try to act like you didn’t get humiliated from start to finish by VANDY AND OKLAHOMA.

Deboer inherited 44 of the 85 players off the 2023 scholarship roster. Six of Alabama’s starters this season were true freshmen or first year transfers.

You guys love to lament how Kelly only had 30 something scholarship players when he arrived. But now that Alabama is dealing with the same thing it is suddenly different.

It's funny how this is now y'alls perspective. The only thing that has changed is your tune because you didn't make the playoffs.

When KD was hired most of your fan base were chirping how bama wouldn't miss a beat, and Milroe was suddenly going to become Penix. After all, he was a Heisman finalist the previous year.

I didn’t say it, another poster did.

But even a public school education teaches that a decade is ten years and half of ten is five. 2020-2024 is 5 years.

2020
2021
2022
2023
2024

So half a decade.

That is simply false.

If you go back and look at preseason predictions, over half of the Alabama fans that responded predicted Alabama to go 10-2 or worse this season. If you check back on previous seasons when Saban was coach, the vast majority of Alabama fans predicted Alabama to go 11-1 or better each season.

This is unequivocal proof that most Alabama fans realized that there is only one Saban. Most expected some challenges and an additional loss this season. This year that seems to be exactly what happened. There is actual proof of what Alabama fans expected from Deboer versus what they expected from Saban on this board, irregardless of what your corndog addled brain selectively picked up on.

Maybe you forgot about LSU's QB winning the Heisman trophy just last year.

Pretty sure everyone did, consider LSU and Big Game Brian accomplished nothing with him.

This we agree on. Alabama has a far superior football program than LSU. The decline at Alabama will look better than a historically good season at LSU. LSU fans celebrated Kelly going 9-3 in his first season. Those same LSU fans ridicule Alabama for going 9-3. So yes, the situations are nowhere close.

Even as horrible as LSU fans claim Alabama is now, Alabama still had a better season than LSU and blew them out at night in Tiger Stadium. Cope on that. In summary, the decline at Alabama looks like:

Ranking: Alabama > LSU
Record: Alabama > LSU
Head to head: Alabama > LSU
Recruiting class: Alabama > LSU
Cities you don’t have to boil the water: Alabama > LSU

No. Bama’s blowout loss to a bad OU team makes them undeserving.
USC is the only 3 loss team in the SEC that has a valid argument.

Alabama was excluded from the 2024 College Football Playoff despite the new 12-team format due to their 9-3 record and missing the SEC Championship game. The playoff committee prioritized SMU, which had a stronger win-loss record and an ACC title game appearance, even with a less challenging schedule. Alabama's three losses and lack of a standout late-season win hurt their case in a competitive field, as other teams from smaller conferences were given a chance in the expanded structure
