so in a nut shell you don;t think it will be much of a contest?

Wrong, I think it will be a huge contest that will end with us having trouble putting up a lot of points but we will score a couple of times. I just think that with the way your offense has been playing and if they continue to play that way that y'all will have a problem outscoring us.

No, we want to be in the position to compete for the NC every year like this year. It's a numbers game and if you compete enough you will win some.

Winning a NC requires having a great team and a lot of luck.

I think Miles should put Lee in the game some this week just to see what he does. He didn't play that bad last year for a freshman. I know people gave him a hard time but he actually had pretty good numbers if you remove the pick 6's. At least he wasn't afraid to throw the ball downfield.

Y'all actually had us last year and lost the game in overtime. That game was to the wire with Lee as the QB. Just my opinion.

Don't be ignorant "slim", and no. With an 18 or 19 yr old QB we didn't expect to win the SEC. Nearly impossible. But your avoidance of my question shows your fear. And with a QB we would be the favorites this year.

I answered your question indirectly dipshit, sorry your too stupid to see that.

I hate this shite... I stay on the Rant and I keep my expectations low... 10-2 and the Capitol One Bowl... I come here and things instantly have a rosier perspective and we have a shot at the BCSNC.

Yeah, if we went 13-1 this year, that would be a failure.

Come on. Of course we WANT to win the NC, but a good season is a good season.

there is no such thing as national title or failure - if someone thinks making a bcs bowl is a failure, they are dumb.

it may be disappointing, but surely not a failure

Question for the Bammer fans....

If you guys don't win the title this year, is the season considered a failure?

By default, the answer is yes. Every team is out to get the national title. Every other prize is consolatory.

But we all know why you started the thread. You don't want to see Bama go all the way... and you're hoping to make us "realize our worries" or feel like what we have accomplished thus far is completely pointless if we don't win out.

What you don't realize is how happy we are.

THE REAL ANSWER TO YOUR QUESTION:

NOT AT ALL. If we don't get to ATL or play in the national title game... we're still kicking major arse... our team is a real team for once in a long time. YEAH, we want to go all the way. YEAH, we think we can. NO, we won't be distraught or freaked out if we don't. Only 1 team gets to claim that one time per year.

Alabama is back for real this time. That is what we care about. HOWEVER, what WOULD depress me, since you're so desperate to know.. is if we don't snag a national title while Saban is here.

I'd much rather center my thoughts around winning the BCS title every year, rather than centering my thoughts around an entirely different team the way certain fanbases do.

Whether it's preposterous or not, it's the grand scale of college football for every major team and the only "fans" who don't expect it (and claim it's unrealistic to expect it year in and year out) are those who support the teams that the major teams overshadow. Instead, all they do is focus on that major team and nothing else.
