Y'all are the frickn worst of the worst. Jordan Davis had 2 bad games and now according to y'all he's not deserving of any awards. Multiple threads started by bama fans, really? I guess since Young looked mediocre against Auburn he shouldn't win the Heisman. I just want to say shut the frick up and go finish celebrating with your sisters.

I don't have anything against Davis and am not saying he shouldn't win any awards. It's just that any award where it's between Anderson and Davis, Anderson should win.
I think most Bama fans, and fans in general, don't have a problem with who wins an award as long as it seems legitimate. And a couple of these awards make it seem it's more about hating on Bama than giving it to the best player.

I think the point is that there were more deserving players for any award he won.
Will Anderson damn near set the TFL record this season and had 15.5 sacks.

Why don’t you explain to the class why Jordan Breakfast Buffet Davis is deserving of being the only player in SEC History to win both the Bednarik and Outland trophies in the same year.
That might be easier than a pissing contest about the Heisman trophy.

Awards are at the whim of voters
Sometimes the most deserving doesn't win
Who would have thought Cincy's other CB would win Thorpe over Gardner who wasn't even a finalist, Gardner is the more heralded player
The Mackey award doesn't even have Bowers as a finalist which means it's a longevity award more than recognizing the best players

I understand all that and again I'm not saying Davis shouldn't win something. However the Heisman and Bednarik awards are the best players awards. Which are basically based on stats with some quantitative perhaps subjective guidelines. For example even if someone has better or similar stats if that player is on a team with a losing or worse record they generally don't win the Heisman.
Seeing as how these awards are, imo, based on stats and Anderson's stats blows everyone's out of the water it's a legitimate beef.

If you are a real football fan let me enlighten you. Davis is a specialist. On top of that he is so big he's only good for a few plays. In this hyper-spread era that dog ain't hunting.
Against Michigan and their ground and pound, he will have a much higher profile for as long as he can go. Against the giddy-up spread teams, who are NOT going to let him off the field, hell to the NO.
That's why.

Dean is the best player on UGA's defense, not Jordan Davis. So how the frick did Davis win awards? Mount Cody is Jordan Davis except he blocked kicks to win games.

Jordan Davis is a solid player.
However, he's not the best defensive player in the nation, he's not the best defensive player in his conference, he's not the best defensive player on his team, he's not the best DL on his team.
So yeah, he's OVERRATED.

DawgRff my question to you is this, who is more valuable to the UGA defense, Dean or Davis? I would say the Dean. Davis averaged 22 snaps a game. Dean stayed on the field. If you want to argue that Dean deserved more than Anderson I could see that argument but arguing that a guy who played less than half the snaps is better than those two is not a good argument.
