Coker while hyped beyond belief upon transferring hasn't exactly showed he is as advertised and Cooper Bateman hasn't showed much promise either. No flame, simply wondering if you guys think it might be time to let Blake Barnett come in and take some snaps and get some experience and take his lumps now that way you guys will have a QB next year with some experience under his belt.

The answer is........

If I had the remote in the movie Click, I would be fast forwarding.

Honestly, I still want to give Bateman a chance. I feel he actually has a learning curve. I can't cite specific examples of what i saw and why I want him in, it's just that I feel SO dang sure Coker has NO learning curve.

Did Bateman get hurt on that block during the Ole Miss game?

I still see potential in Cooper Bateman. He's confident and consistent. He's just not a star. But given the chance to shine I think he would be a way better go to guy than Coker.

I don't think Barnett is physically ready. He needs the season to watch, learn and hit the weights. Putting him in now could do more damage than good to him later on.

No Saban said in the post game conference it was their plan all along to start him and bring tempo to the first half and Coker was going to finish it out. I guess they just decided to do that after he threw that interception. Which I didn't think was a bad play just a case of miscommunication between the receivers and Bateman.

My thing is that if the light hasn't come on for Coker now, it's just not going to come on.

I still feel bad for him, because I think Bama should fire Cristobal asap. Your line should be much better than it is

I saw somewhere that his wires were crossed after the hit. If you watch the play he did good to know which sideline was his.

I feel more comfortable with Coker. Just don't ask him to go beyond his abilities. Let him be a game manager. Kiffin seems to want to throw the long ball when we could dink and dunk all the way up the field.

Agreed. He should never throw the long ball until we have NO question the game is in full control. His pass decision making makes my arse pucker up EVERY time. I hate this! Been a while since I've felt truly vulnerable at our QB position. All the ones that were supposed to suck ended up doing splendidly, and started doing splendidly early on.

Yeah well kiffin got spoiled with an all world talent like Amari Cooper last year and he is probably having to learn how to adapt without him. It will take time but Saban won't deal with a sputtering offense so Kiffin will have to figure it out.

Fair enough. I just saw that there was no injury report.

I think Coker provided a spark and he's actually a more running threat than Bateman.
