Word came down from the REC to make the field conditions identical to the 2010 Capital One Bowl.

I may be wrong but I think there is a drainage system under the turf.

It's prescription turf. Sand, drainage, the whole nine yards. Can handle a very hard downpour. The rain Saturday is less of an issue than the rain happening all during this week in T-town leading up to Saturday. Still think the field will be fine.

Not a Bama fan, but to my knowledge there is not a field tarp. Field always looks pretty good to immaculate every time I've seen it, which is just about every Friday. I can post a picture of the field Friday afternoon if you want.

I was looking up this issue yesterday and came across an old article from when Saban first got there that he was running around bitching about a lack of a tarp during a rainy week. The article went on to clarify that a tarp isn't really necessary and talked about the drainage system.
